We don't know that. The EIE Standard interface uses WDM. The Ren is closer to the EIE Pro 24bit interface that is indeed ASIO. The problem is that the drivers a faulty and poorly written for those boxes.

Why would Akai write different types of audio drivers for these devices? It sounds absolutely retarded. Then again, the EIE doesn't even support USB 2.0. It's like they developed it 10 years ago, and when they finally finished it, they realized the technology was out of date, so created a USB-2.0 ASIO version and called it PRO. Goddamn, does anyone over there know what the hell they are doing?

Exactly! I think previous/current products are indicative of quality to be delivered. That said I hoping they are taking the not to repeat the same result in the current EIE series.

Aww c'mon let's get 'em to spill their guts and lose their rep jobs so we don't have to put up with them anymore.

unbelievable that nukai can´t clarify if the ren´s soundcard uses proper asio drivers or not. their website doesn´t answer this crucial question...

:hmmm:

guess that´s because they are targeting the ren towards kids and wannabe producers rather than professionals that bang out beats on a daily basis and need reliable tools...

Why is this so unbelievable? Most interface manufacturers almost never include driver details in the specifications! Look at the specs of any interface online, and I doubt you will find many that mention what type of driver the interface uses! Maybe couple will, but not all.

You're really reaching now. The Ren isn't released yet, their web site just gives a taster of the product, it's a marketing teaser. It's not supposed to be a definitive Q&A with detailed product specs and circuit diagrams. It's there to fuel the hype, you know this.

Pretty sure when it's released, finer details of drivers and other things most musicians couldn't care less about will be picked at with a fine tooth comb by the geeks.

specs > hype.

isnt it pretty close to release already, or did i miss the pushed back date?

this close to release, and the focus isnt on specs but hype?

who could have guessed? :smoker:
