If you are saying that the user is the problem, then I don't agree.

The problem is Akai releasing a firmware update that obviously does not work for many users.

There are reports from many, many users, having problems.

Because it has worked for you, or others, does not negate the widespread issues with this update.

The Akai developers even got on here to try and help people deal with the problems, and apologised for all the hassle and grief it was causing users.

Works for me too. I haven't seen a lot of posts about the 1.5 software update killing the hardware. Sounds suspicious to me.

There were a couple of people havin problems with the firmware update,
the original update caused some problems, but they quickly updated the update and it only caused some problems with people working with mac.
Most of the people are very happy with 1.5, including me.

peace :smoker:

Was so bad when 1.5 was first released that we saw Akai actually on the forum providing tech support.

Is better now, but a few users still seem to be getting stuck on the firmware update.

It is nothing to do with anyone being happy with 1.5, or not, it is about lingering firmware update issues like the OP here is experiencing.

This may solve your update issues.
Please be assured that we're working on this right now!

In the meantime, if you feel adventurous and/or desperate try this:

Those steps will hopefully sort out your units.
Yes, that's pretty clumsy. And yes, we have a better solution for you coming. Just thought you'd like this to get you up-and-running quickly.

It is great that you are happy, but does that help the OP here in anyway, or negate the issues he is still having.

I don't think it is the OP's fault that his MPC is not working due to a dodgy firmware update being released by the manufacturer.

Simon, they provided tech support for the Firmware update not for the software update....
