Thinking on buying Komplete 9.

Is anyone using this with the Ren? does it crash often? is it a productive workflow on the Ren as opposed to Machine Studio? is it worth $1,000?

CAnt speak for version 2.0 on maschine but komplete definatley intergrates better with maschine...

Yeah same manufacturer and preset integration is a major thing NI accomplished with the last few updates.

I don't use the Akai software, but Komplete and it's instruments are stable as can be in every DAW/Host on Earth. So if they are crashing in Ren/Studio that's on Akai and their programming. I wish the Ren/Studio well, but I've never seen a product with so many issues in my life, looks improved from v.1.0 by a great deal though.

Generally speaking Komplete is well worth the high price and for future updates you'll be looking at $250-$500 depending as you get a discount every year. But no other package deal on the market comes with more in the box. Great synths, a terrific drum sampler that you can use for more than drums (one shots, sliced loops etc) and some excellent sample libraries/content.

So if you can afford it really can cover almost everything that isn't sampling from records in your set up.

yeaa crossgrade from maschine was only 375! they sold out indefinitely though, NI support cant even tell me if im gonna have to wait around a month.. or a year... ahaha

If they still run things the same, the mail orders are handled by a third party. So you might luck out as the 3rd party probably deals in multiple stock supplies. So hopefully it's a matter of them finding some to ship short term rather than having to print up new boxes and press new DVDs or those HD's they have been using.

Also, I cannot speak on the $1000 version (Ultimate). I just have the standard Komplete, and yes it works well within my MPC software (Studio)

I don't have Ren but no more difficult than any other VSTs.

You get a bunch of synths (covering all the major types of synthesis), Battery for drums, Kontakt for advanced sampling or just playback. Battery and Kontakt have a ton of included sounds. The Ultimate adds every sound set NI makes and the savings are unbelievably huge over separate purchases.

Most of the plugins come in stereo or 16 out versions. That would really be only thing that takes some setting up. But that's to be expected and a huge plus to be able process multiple audio outs from on plugin, ex -have 16 nice instruments loaded in Kontakt, or do you drums separate in Battery.

I have komplete 8 ultimate. Didn't upgrade this year. Works great with the ren. Actually has so much stuff I have nver used everything yet.

I don't have Ren, but have Studio and U just install komplete, and during the isntall, you specify where to put it's VSTs, which can be anywhere, but I have 2 folders where I dump all 32 and 64 bit VST. When you launch MPC software and its scans your VST directory, Komplete will just work

It works fine with the ren and no I don't think it's worth it. I purchased komplete ultimate 9 about a month ago. When I installed it only has 240 gigs and it's supposed to be 370 gig. The answer I received from customer service was that since I have a Mac it's not 370 gig. I think that's bs but whatev. 1000 dollars wasted.

It works great with the Ren. Some modules can have presets selected directly from the Ren, which I believe Maschine couldn't even do prior to 2.0. It doesn't crash at all for me.

The content you receive is the same, regardless of the file size per platform. You're paying for the actual content, not how much space it takes up. However, the 370GB thing is strange being that the actual hard drive it ships on has only a 320GB capacity. So even if it were that big of a difference on PC, it still makes no sense how they can fit 370GB on a 320GB drive (unless they are compressing the shit out of the content files).
