Akia software developers stuck in the matrix

I had the original MPC 60 when it first came out. Most of you guys were not even sperm at that point. Roger Linn created a monster and the workflow was fantastic even though you were dealing with the non alien enhanced technology of that time.

Moved on to the MPC 5000 because it felt familiar. Workflow was great with that until they stopped supporting it.

Moved on to the Ren, I got it because I like lights on my device and it had similar specs.

To make the long story short I just want to have a stable machine to work on projects, I rarely sample and I'm not trying to "master" anything in the pre-production faze with the Ren... I know better

I saw the vid of that Captain save a Ren guy and he seemed obsessed with his agenda not mine. His passion with his 1.7 software is meaningless if there are numerous crashes and problems with loading projects from non 1.7

The bells & whistles are fine, just get back to stability.

Stability with hybrid setup's is now also the responsibility of the end user as well Unfortunately.

I have 2 pcs.. A mac and hp envy.. The hp envy doesn't like the asio ren driver... (because of usb 3.0) The mac how ever, is really stable, and the only crashes i get are really from third party software..

I feel Akai's communication lines to its user's and market are not up to par.. A closer relationship can cut out alot of guessing games and make customers feel alot more loyal.. Thing is everyone comes up with the good ideas on how things should be done after all the flaws and mistakes pop up..

LOL I guess he's talking about the guys that put on their AKAI Cape and fly in to try to save the day for the Ren when it falls under criticism. Like that Jahrome cat.


I love my Ren though. I can make beats all day on that thang:

because he's right......they are lost in the matrix indeed.....

those hardware sales can't pay off for software developers, as they do in real and only software business in first place.....

it's almost impossible to catch up with all the progress happen here every day....
simple as that....

no chance for a small develpoer team that needs to keep a controler up to date and smooth with at least three os versions on two different os mainframes, each dealing with nothing more but beeing ahead of each other.....

native was clever to copy the mpc concept by adding a hardware controler to their daily business since years....
akai was not clever when stealing it back by jumpin' on the controler train.....
the ren is a dead end pretty soon.....sorry to say that again...

As far as Akai's communication, they do have their forum, but it **** sucks and I don't think any MPC forum will ever compete with this one anyway. Pete G is the head guy of the entire MPC project and is always on twitter. From what I've seen, he answers a lot of user questions on there. So if you want better communication than you get from here or their ghost town forum, I would suggest opening a twitter account and hit him up.

imagine if we all made a twitter and just spammed him with the shit that needs to be better? and they did it. that would be sick..

also i hope mpc ren isnt dying anytime soon because this is my first mpc ever and i dont think i could ever use one of the old ones..

true the mpc has a lot of little things that pisses me off but other then that its the shit!

After all the shit, and finally finding out that pete is the main guy, it seem the communication is better talking direct with you masada and triplex(and all beta testers vocal on this forum), because the crediblity comes from real mpc users, who have connection to the guys actually making/designing/coding the product.. Imo the best people to communicate the info.. especially in a hitech arena where us geeks and nerds see through the pr bullshit.. or are very cynical of the marketing campaigns.. pr people always chinese whisper or twist critical info for selling..

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean, which is exactly why we try come here and give as much info/support as we can. Unfortunately there is just some shit we can't discuss until Pete lets it fly first. But as beta testers, our first priority is the product and the users.
