Poll:would naming from hardware be useful?

Dudes will enjoy the nostalgia at first, then when they have to name 14 tracks, they will quickly see how much of a waste of time this would be! Then they will reach for the keyboard just like users of hardware MPC's always wished they could!

At least we should be able to highlight the name and start typing. As of now I definitely need to use the mouse, I'd love to just select the name and start typing.

I think I'll post a feature request at AKAI's website...

I voted yes, but what I actually want is a way to access the renaming from the hardware and then use the keyboard to rename. Just as 83dude stated....

in certain circumstances yes - but i dont think it should be at the top of the priority list

Yess! The problem is not that we need to use the keyboard. The problem is that we have to use the mouse! An option to highlight the name would be so much helpful!

man i want that so bad...i wouldnt even write the whole name..maybe just an abbreviation or acronym or even one **** letter to know what what im going to be on or what track i am looking for.

i have just started trying to work from hardware only and it does speed up the workflow a lot. but i hate having to go back and forth to laptop to rename shit.

What WOULD be dope is if there was a way to name from the hardware using PRESET names you could choose from. For example, I could press Window on the track field of the hardware, then press a Name f key for example, choose from a list of names like Hat, Kick, Snare, Strings, Bass, Guitar, Piano, Drums, Melody, Sample, etc. All you would have to do is pick one instead of typing it in. THAT would be dope!

shit..better yet. being able to just add the names your self also and just press any pad to chose a name or a number or what ever.
