Long time MPC user, considering Renaissance

Cheers All

Never joined this forum but, have been following for sometime now! Have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with; Yosemite crushed my Firewire 410 AI and I was considering purchasing a different AI AND a Renaissance. Just read the Renaissance is also an Audio Interface (which is awesome BC it kills two birds...) Question:

Do you literally route all of your computers sounds through the MPC all the time? Do you have to be running the MPC software (which I'm not familiar with) in order to hear music/movies on your computer?

Thanks in advance for your help here as I have to buy before the end of the year.

no sir. you dont have to run the software to use the monitors. the mpc does have to be on though.

i use them for music and to watch movies/pr0nz/music
