dude, one guy pointed out how their marketing was out of control and ridiculous (at the time it really was... lol) and the (at the time) president of the company actually went out of his way to make a diss track as a response .. A. the song sucked, B. it was really cornball coming from someone trying to sell a product to us here on the forums.

Some people looked passed the chicanery and said.. "you know what, these guys are clowning around but I'll pre-order one anyways" (I wasn't one of those poor souls) and guess what happened? the piece of gear never dropped ... for like a couple of years!! they had to fight to get refunded top it off.

These guys are old news around here, and they will always be a long running joke in these forums even if they got new management... that being said:

I see that the maschine forum has a random thread where some cat popped in right in the middle just to say that the beat thang is now at sweetwater... :P I'll give cat's the benefit of the doubt.. Up until they start saying it is way more powerful than an mpc..lol... I mean, I've seen some fanboi ****, but somehow it was always rooted to some buried degree on specs.... Cats be fueding over a Motif or Fantom, but I've never seen a cat with a Casio try to barge in like that's the ****... That's what makes BT's viral marketing so see through... The specs don't back it up. Lack of Sequencer detail, assign pad to effects, grid view.... Plus my glitchy experience put it on a whole other level... ........ I think the undercover bt cheerleader team needs to learn on how to be believable.... You know, conquer the MPC500 with their ads, maybe take on the 1000 and get bloody bruised up in the process... But reviewers saying it's more powerful than a 5000, 4000, (or other than polyphony the 1000..) I just don't get it. Just because they didn't release the spec sheet like a reputable company doesn't mean cat's haven't figured it out what it can (and more precisely can't do..) Yall know that the box I had for it still said that step sequencing is available under features? ...

I love what I've heard of your tracks. It's def the kind of hip hop I like. The fact you offer your tracks at 24 bit 48khz.... that's an inspiration man.. In a market that sees audio as throwaway and compressed mp3's and earbuds are the norm, while video keeps expanding into higher res and 3d, I'm glad to see an artist offering quality sound better than CD.

Word?! Sound quality is really important to me! I can't tell you how many cd's I've gotten at shows that have ended up on the NJ Turnpike shoulders because it sounded like pure ass. Home studios are a gift and a curse. Everybody wants their shit done cheap or free, but they can't even take the time out to read all the FREE information on the internet about mixing and recording. It's terrible! But yeah, I can go on a rant all day about this shit! Thanks for checking and appreciating! :D

Yea so I went into Best Buy and played with the Beat Thang.........and I bought it

Its really good. It wont replace what I have now, but I could make it work for my setup. Its a little glitchy, as far as loading sounds and sometimes changing patterns, but I got in contact with a tech guy and he said that they are "ironing out those gremlins" lol and an update will be out shortly to remedy it. I'll compare it between a MPC 500 and a MPC1000. Its pretty heavy and the lights are actually kind of cool. Ill post a beat up when i get a chance.. Oh yea Hellfire, kudos on your quality tracks! Its definitely Audiophile Hip Hop!!

Lets cut the chaser and let me give to yall raw and straight...THE BEAT THANG is officially DEAD...yeah, dead I say...3 THANGs killed'ed off: Mr KangBoomBap being rude, crude and disrespectful on this and other forums>>>this fool ADMITTED that he had never touched an MPC in his life, and then SWORE up and down that his BEAT THANG was better...its like never owning a PORSCHE and swearing up and down that the CORVETTE is a better car based on the 0-60 mph on a flat race track...what about in the SNOW, idiot? What about in a 100 mph crash, dum-dum... theres a special section in hell for those who ADMIT they were ignorant  hahahahaha
2nd: We all know that DALLAS AUSTIN is a keyboard genius and a super-producer that should be a household name, like Kanye or DRE...why did D.A. not do more to promote the BEAT THANG with more radio songs, youtube videos, major new artist albums, etc, etc, ad naseum? Cause the BEAT THANG is dead. D-E-D, dead, and not even Bones from STAR TREK can bring it back...
3rdly: They should have released the HARDWARE unit before or simultaneously with the software...that is just a no-brainer we all can agree on...
AND WE OUT!!!

And the storm starts. lol... I experienced glitches on more than what you just stated. You must have had a special VIP pass to get in touch with a tech (and in less than 24 hours..) I emailed them more than two weeks ago and NEVER heard back. Let me state that again. I emailed their customer service more than 2 weeks ago and NEVER got an answer. Apparently BTV customers experienced similar service.
I'm a gambling man so let's make a wager. This company has a long history of not backing up what they say, grid edit has been promised to virtual customers going on two years? So..... No real customer would trust their product on "promised" updates. So.. You have two weeks to return it to BestBuy. I wager that if you keep it past your return policy and the BK's don't offer a firmware update fixing the "gremlins", you are either too trusting and naive for anyone to take your review serious, or you are a schill for the company. Let's see this firmware update.
