You'll have to ask Pete Goodliffe on Twitter, if you want a direct response.

But I doubt it, they never know what will actually make it into the release, until it is fully ready to be released, as features might be pulled at the last minute, like they were with 1.6, so I don't think they generally like committing to anything until it is ready.

I cannot wait to see what will be new in the 1.7 update at Summer NAMM (July 17-19)! I'm sure Akai will knock us off our feet with a bunch of new features.

What kind of mistake is this lol..

It's a special edition, that's why.

That version is fully functional, in hard- and software.

Yo,
i do not understand all the hate on the ren.
When you like to produce (samplebased) music this mpc is dope.

Got everything what you need today plus the good old sampling and sequencer workflow.

Remember this is a beat machine/sampler. Not a DAW.
When you are not familiar with this workflow then learn it.

When you operate this baby like the old ones you gotta love it.

And in addition:

You could apply some vst effects if needed and its also possible to use vst instruments for basslines or whatever...
When you finished the beat, extract the tracks to audiotracks and transfer them to you DAW or just use the DAW plugin.

There are rumours some well named ny hiphop producer switched over to it and i m sure you will hear alot of renaissance beats this year.

Just keep your eyes and ears open and dont believe the hype/hate of the todays internet trolling.
For example look at some newer pictures from headquarter (old D&D) studio.
Premos 60 is not sitting anymore next to the turntable.

I asked about that on a well known facebook account and i got the answer back that not only premier finally switched over to the renaissance (also Finesse, Large Pro, ...)

For me that was not the factor to buy it, i have it since day one, but that shows that highly decorated producers dig this mpc and i m sure we will get some renaissance bangers served this year. With or without a new update,mixer,.. blabla.

Yes there is space for some more features (realtime timestretch for every pad) and improved chopping, but for me it works fine without that.

Same story with machine. For example, i think some nice beats from the mobb deep lp are produced with it. It does what it should do and fits too as a nice beat machine.
I would buy it also when n.i. stop to hold back features.

What i cannot believe is that realtime timestretch and pitchshift havent (?) make it to ni machine till now. I mean they have the Kontakt sampler for years with that features.

I cannot understand why there is no beatmachine out for YEARS with those features.. but thats another story.

And while waiting on updates go out buy some records, sample them, smoke a L, build some nice drums. Just do it how it was supposed to be done and quickly you forget about all this internet/software b_ullshit.

one love,

Alfred
