I don't see anywhere where someone bought a beat thang because they were mad at the Ren. The EMU cat said he bought one to tie him over on waiting for the Ren. I bought one skeptically and returned it and got a bad *** computer instead, and had I had more money would have bought a 4000 or 5000.

I personally don't get how someone could be mad at a product that isn't out yet but know that it does happen. I wasn't thrilled about the next mpc being tied to a computer, but if the word that the analog outs have 3000 and 60 series circuits is true... Well... I did just buy a bad *** computer. If you can't beat em' join em.

think we all know the ren will wipe the floor with the beat thang

but im interested all those who called beat thang vapourware must also assign the same term to the much lauded lin sampler follow up to the tempest

This was the worst thing about the whole NAMM thing.
With all the noise Akai was making trying to get people to follow their channels for info etc, you would think they would have had a better informed rep and units capable of a decent demo.

They are basically trying to derail peoples purchases until they can complete their product.
It's a long way to the third quarter and so much can happen before then.

I disagree. When you go to an annual auto show, a lot of the car manufacturers have these things on display called CONCEPTS. Many of them do not even have functional interiors or even any drive train and the reps don't know what configurations the cars will have when they go to production, and that's if they even make it to production.

They aren't trying to derail anything. You still have every right to go and buy whatever the hell you want! :lol: There's no law saying you have to wait for these MPC's. :lol: I bet even if they didn't display the MPC's at NAMM, and instead decided to just drop the MPC's out of the blue in August, and you had bought a Maschine back in April, you would still be pissed at Akai for not giving you any heads up and leaving you stuck with Maschine! You sound just like everyone else who is mad just for the **** of being mad! It ain't that serious. :lol:
