Akai is really LISTENING!!

It may or may not matter what any of us say here....but I can tell you Akai has set out to make these products right. Their plan is to make sure the OS is solid and also sprinkle in a few feature requests....with additional features added in the future.

Wasn't the same thing said at the launch of the 5000?

The only way to tell if Numark has learned it's lesson is wait until the early adopters take the risk and report back. Prototypes and wishlist don't mean much except that their serious about it's release. That's just a reality dealing with Akai.

"We" get what I believe will be a great product. That's all I need. I still have a great rapport with Akai. Which is why I can tell you that they are putting in work to bring out great new products. Everything you guys are talking about has made its way to Akai.

Why would you have any rapport with Akai if you are not working for them, with them or pushing this product on their behalf?

It seems that , just like with the 5000 , you're trying to position yourself as the consumer go-between for Akai. Given that you've spammed every forum pushing the new MPCs the same as you did with the 5000. History repeats itself once again. There is indeed a reason why all of your post read like promos for Akai written by a CS rep.

You know, not everyone is trustworthy and if JAH did that with the 5000 and is doing it now, than that goes to show.

On some real ish here, we need to be more active in fighting for what WE want, and not what someone says that we will get. As far as I'm concerned, some of this post is a lot of trolling. We have to keep steady and drop the ideas.

In all honesty, what would make these new machines a worthy purchase in my eyes is if they are completely stable. Doesn't mean that it will be upon release, but I'm quite tired of small glitches here and there never being fixed. That's REALLY my main concern as an owner of the MPC 500. I was half-suckered into buying it because of what I heard about the Akai brand, and then they got bought by Numark and have NOT issued one update since. The question on my mind is, how do they expect to sell these products if they now have a reputation of not stamping out the bugs that everyone seldom speaks about, but have a great passion to see fixed.

If Akai/Numark or both is ACTUALLY listening, then they know just how important it is for us to have products that WORK as advertised, and have little to no defects/bugs. What I'm getting at here is all the minor bugs that mess with workflow are not minor bugs at ALL. If someone asks me to make a beat quickly, but I cannot because of the product that I use doesn't work 100% of the time, then I'm of course going to be swayed to go to a different brand of product. I'm half and half on trying to purchase one of the new products, but I will no doubt wait for at least 3 months after release to see if they are working on fixing bugs that people report.
