Nice Nice Guys!!! These are the main features I've been waiting on. Anything else will just be added luxury for my workflow. Very excited about 64bit, double click for shift, and midi clock receive!!!!

i am excited about this but seriously... when.. are they going to allow us to edit samples with the data wheel?

this is standard old school mpc stuff where the scrolling would slow down and speed up depending on how fast you were scrolling the data wheel.

this is for those of us who dont like the endless encoders with numerous options of scroll speed..

also... we should be allow to turn off the data encoder midi out. if i touch an encoder it sends notes of midi out to my synths or DAW... pretty annoying!

How does the double tap work exactly?

It works just like double click on a mouse. Just hit the button twice quickly instead of shift + button.

Sounds like the toggle idea that was discussed before. Does the new method mean more or less shift button presses? Do you have to double tap it on and off?

i understand it as this

say youre in the main screen - you hit PGM EDIT once and it goes to pgm edit, you hit it again (or twice) and it goes to the Q-Link screen

so hitting that key would cycle through pgm edit, q link, then main screen, then pgm edit, q link , main screen..

but maybe you have to hit it twice quickly to access the "shift" function, i dunno

either way, less shift key use

The camera panning away when Dan demonstrated it didn't help. So it's a double tap to access any secondary function? That's a step in the right direction.

RE-CHOP for the MPC SOFTWARE 1.5 ! (Courtesy of JAH)

1. Open MPC software with MPC Ren/Studio connected via USB

2. Load 'Sample.wav'

3. Enter Sample Edit Chop Mode

4. Chop 'Sample.wav' via 16 Regions; slices are automapped to Pad Bank A

5. Strike Pad A05 to select Region 5

6. Press F3 [Rechop]

7. F3 opens 'Rechop' menu with options to rechop Region 5 via Threshold, Regions, BPM with applicable params plus F4 [Cancel] and F5 [Do It]

8. F4 [Cancel] cancels operation

9. F5 [Do It] rechops Region 5 and maps the new slices to the pads between the previous Region 4 and Region 6.
