What sampler is better supported than Akai samplers?


Roland MV

3yr warranty
More OS updates than any Akai sampler
More updated features than any Akai sampler
Lifespan as long (if not longer) than any single MPC
OS is rock solid , stable , swift
** Factory OS not abandoned and left in the hands of a 3rd party

In comparison ,what recent support or update has been offered for the 500,1000,2500, or 5000?

I can't speak for all Roland boxes but they got the MV support right. I haven't looked back at the 4000 since I sold it.

MV8000 was not a great product...average at best. Buggy and slow. Expensive add ons and technology nobody supported...R Buss? Lol MV8800 a little better. But demand for MVs were so low, Roland scrapped the MV series. And Roland did not fix the issue with audio tracks before abandoning the unit.

Roland followed up with the Fantom G. They released few updates and stopped making expansion boards. The Fantom G is the worst supported Roland flagship workstation in recent memory.

Sorry dude that would be the MPC5000 you dumped. read it and be reminded

"the 5000 hardware is very nice, it is just the OS that is a POS. I've been working on a project and decided to use the 5000 mainly due to having access to the synth, and it's been like pulling teeth. Laggy screens, programs refusing to output sound, veng errors, annoying 'features' that get in the way of workflow etc."

Create another thread and we can continue. I certainly don't want MPC Ren threads getting locked up by debating a dead product line....that you left for an MPC 1000 :nod:

yeah 3.5X is not buggy in my experience.. my only issues with the MV is not really related to the machine, it's the sort of emulation that you are actually exploring the drive when USB is launched (on the PC end)... when in fact you aren't... the other thing is how lists are only sorted by date... not by alphabetically...

The support seems pretty good, because the machines work.. plus every now and then they were releasing sample kits and stuff in MVO format etc..

MVs are dirt cheap on the second hand market here. With the exception of the 500, 1000, 2000, and standard 2000xl...all other MPCs cost more in the second hand market.

Also the audio track issue was a huge problem Roland and the moderators at MV Nation denied was an issue. Telling people to slice up their audio tracks so they stay in sync. Lol

Got mine for free with free ram when I bought my 2500! :nod: Some special they had going on!

Depending on when/where you picked up the 2500, the memory and/or CD/DVD player was free. Ad if you didn't get the memory for free, you could use laptop memory which was under $40.

Moyphee loves forgetting about Roland's premium priced add ons for all of their products. When the 2500 was released, it came standard with 10 analog outs while Roland was charging folks for their analog out expansion boards.
