Are you guys talking about returning a product because you don't like it, or because you feel it is faulty or 'not as described'? In the UK it wouldn't matter if it were software or hardware, if it's not working correctly or promised features are not there when you buy it, you a legally entitled to a full refund.

If you just don't like it, that's where the software element makes it complicated to get a refund. That said, if it needs activating and you 'deactivate' it and hence make the software unusable, then I don't see the problem.

But also as the Ren software requires the hardware to function correctly, I also dont see there being any reasonable problems in returning it.

Do the US have 'distance selling' regulations? In the UK, if you buy something online, you have 7 days to inspect it and if you change your mind return it for a full refund (except for software...but I think my argument above would help there).

This would be great to quiet all the complaints regarding Akai not delivering the product on-time when the release date has always been late Summer.

Very few people will receive their Rens late summer (I personally know how many, but cannot give that #) GC has an allotment. Most will see theirs in OCT In the USA.

Guitar center told me yesterday they have 165 units being shipped to their distribution center next week. Who knows if this is true or not. I hope it is, after advertising it as being available in their labor day sale magazine in the mail.

But this doesn't cover however many units Musician's friend is shipping, as this seems to be the retailer that's shipping them earliest.

Rest assured, those that pre-ordered their MPC Rennasissance by AKAI will receive them shortly. Others who are interested in professional midi controllers should place their orders so they too can produce bang music.

You sound like a dealer or Akai affiliate. Forum members assuring customers of a product delivery is fishy to say the least. IJS
