EVERY SINGLE MPC made has the same button mounting system design regardless of when it was made and what shape the transport buttons are. If you've ever taken an MPC case off you'd know that. Like I mentioned to you in another thread, I have a 2000XL that I bought BRAND NEW in April 2001 and my Play Start, Play, and Stop buttons are all broken just like the picture Retro posted. Just because yours haven't broke doesn't mean guys are trolls because theirs broke.

You are talking to the wrong person. I have purchased and sold 100+ MPCs. The transport design/buttons on MPCs are fine the way they are from my experience. They certainly do not break/fail at a rate higher than MV-8800, SP 12/1200, or any keyboard workstation.

Tact switches all eventually wear out and need to be replaced. When they begin to wear out, some "inexperienced" MPCs users begin to press harder on the buttons. As the buttons are plastic, they will break if enough force is applied. So don't mash on the buttons. This applies to all music production gear. Hopefully, you can understand.....and yes, we do have plenty of folks trolling this section of the forum...let's not sugar coat this.

So did Bob at Guitar Center and Steve at Sam Ash! Doesn't change the fact the other people have issues.

You have a "dancing Maschine bug" with Maschine. I've used it extensively for months and haven't had that problem. Doesn't mean there isn't a problem that NI needs to address just because it hasn't happened to me.

On my XL, my buttons have been broken since like 2003. A couple days ago is the first time I've ever mentioned it. The point of me saying that is to say that the reason it's not a commonly talked about issue is because it doesn't effect functionality of the machine. So people aren't really gonna make such a huge deal about it.

Now tact switches on the other hand can make the machine completely unusable. So of course every person that has that issue is gonna speak about it and seek a resolution. But I'm sure there are as many broken button issues as there are tact issues. I personally haven't had any tact issues on my 1000 or 2500. But several others have.

I don't think it's just abuse that plays a part. I didn't abuse mine. I suppose that since it's just plastic, it can get brittle with age, possibly due to climate variances or something. Who knows? Whatever it is, they break. No reason to call people trolls for making legitimate complaints, just as you do without a problem with Maschine and Korg!

Your assuming I actually ran across that piece of info Hellfire just told me, I haven't seen it and didn't know.

It was not aimed at you Lamp, I know you are level headed. I just get sick and tired of JAH's bitching in every thread.

My b!tch!n?......I am among one of the few that have't made one complaint about the new MPCs. You guys on the other hand cry about everything that is not to your personal specification. I just point out how silly some of your sound. Big difference.

When I talk about Maschine its from the stand point of actually owning the product. You guys are talking about a product that you have not touched nor have you tried out the software.

My issues with Maschine has to do with basic functions like stopping a sample once it is triggered instead of waiting a minute for one to stop. I am talking about not being able to sequence like any other MIDI sequencer (not specifically an MPC). Not crying about not having a waveform display on an LCD that us about 6 x 2 inches when a graphic waveform is displayed on a 24 inch monitor (or what every you have at home). Huge difference.

When I talk about communication, I trying to teach some kids how to communicate with a company like an adult. When I had issues with MPCs in the past, I got excellent customer service from Akai and VST Service (shout out to Robert Ray and Dave Segimoto) with very little to no cost because of great rapport and communicating like an adult not a raving lunatic. Build relationships not burn bridges. There is a very good reason why I got one of the first Kronos that left Korg's factory.

Sir, feel free to ignore me...and continue talking about what ever issues you may or may not have. I really do hope you get the results you are shooting for. At the very least...you do have alternatives to turn to.

Yes, but in this case pertaining to the topic of this specific thread, technically, since Akai confirmed the button design is the same, we are talking about a product that we have all already touched. It'd be like asking NI, if version 2.0 is going to have a panic stop for long samples, and their reply was no. Sure you have not used 2.0 yet, but you know from past experience that not having a panic button will be a problem for you, but may or may not matter to everyone else.

Not everyone's complaints and requests that are made here are "childish" and un-adult-like. Many of the concerns are legitimate and are presented appropriately. There are some assholes here and there, but you can't just single everyone out that does not share your 100% satisfaction and label them "cry babies".

You've bitched plenty of times about Maschine not having sample parameters on the same page when it's just as easy to arrow through 6 pages of parameters as it is to cursor through 20 different parameter fields on the same page in MPC's parameter screen. But that's your preference. You want the shit all on one page. The 6 pages don't bother me. Does that make you a cry baby just as you claim some of us are crying because we want a waveform on our screen?

The Roger Linn MPC's are built like tanks apart from the buttons.

I've owned the below items since launch:

1 x SP12 Turbo = All buttons working just had to change battery and display.

1 x MPC 60 mk I = Buttons changed several times and back light.

1 x MPC 60 mk II = Power supply failed, buttons changed several times and back light.

1 x MPC 3000 = Buttons changed several times and back light.

1 x MPC 3000 LE = Buttons changed once, play/start and soft key 1 button currently snapped.

Yes. We are talking about the best sampling drum machine every built. There is no product on the market today built like the MPC 3000. I don't need to comment any further as the MPC Ren will have the same design.

As an actual owner of Maschine (as oppose to those wishing to own a new MPC), I gave NI Feedback about what I felt is wrong, why I felt it is wrong, and how I believe it can be improved. That is giving positive customer feedback. Never have you seen me leave a message on NI's site saying "Maschine suks and you are idiots if you can't handle improving a basic function and I will never buy a product from you bloodsuckers."

This is the behavior I am talking about in these forums...the behavior it seems you are here defending...and you can't see or realize what you are doing.

That's all good and all Jah, but no one in this thread was behaving like that AT ALL. There's no need for you to bring that shit in here and derail the thread! I'm not defending nothing of the sort. You come in here accusing people of this shit but can't point out in any thread that I called you out in where anyone was behaving the way you are claiming!

Actually JAH, what I was referring to was exactly what happened above.

I just don't understand why you feel such a burning need to comment on almost every single REN related post by trying to rectify the op's beliefs to correspond with your own. It gets tiresome really fast, when almost every thread in the forum has a reply by you at two post intervals trying to contradict what the previous guy posted.

You may have some good points or a bright idea or even offer insight in some issues, but frankly I cannot be arsed to read your posts anymore.

Nope, when you push the buttons from an angle or hit the corners they snap!

The buttons on the MPC 2000/XL are smaller with thicker hinges, so they are far less prone to snapping.
