On the MPCs we can run on a track either MPC mode as we all know or MIDI. Now on the software when it's in MP mode on the track you are using the sounds on the pads for your beats......when you switch the setting to midi yu can now sequencer your outboard modules through the MPC software same as when we would drive the hardware seq back in the day. Now the next mode is the killer........

When you select PLUG IN we can now load up VST!AU etc like gladiator or Nexus and sequencer our synths and stuff n the sequencer software........

Ok nice,

Can I trigger internal drum sounds via midi from a keyboard or drum pad controller i.e. MPC 3000?

You can link your 3000 to the Midi out and trigger that from ur keyboard once it's connected to the Midi in.... But the software must be in Midi mode not MP mode

Splendid!

Will the transport or knobs in the software respond to midi CC or be mappable?

I remember you from 8 Jam times, have you ever broken your MPC 3000 buttons, I know I have lol

My old cream one had seen better days so I sold it and picked up a black le last year.

Those 8 Jam days. Record industry has changed so much since then. Lol

Tell me about it lol

Has there been any thought of re-enforcing the transport buttons or bundling a free spare with the purchase, as you and I as known MPC3000 users are aware of their weakness?

I've also got an LE now with the play/start button snapped and I'd hate for the same fate to await my REN.

Hello Mr. Andy Mac,

I just want to know, when sampling into the Renaissance through the phono input with a turntable. Will I be able to wet the incoming signal with the Ren's effect?

Good question ^^^ Being able to alter the sound before sampling would be a time saver as well. :D

Ok nice one for that.

How is it so far on your CPU? as Motu BPM is a hog and I intend to run this with Pro Tools under it's limited 32 bit constraint.

As far as the processing that depends on how many plugs your running. For most users it shouldn't even be an issue but if you start loading endless amounts of plugs and VST instruments then the only thing that will let you down is the computer your running.

Nice see alot of Akai peepz in this! :D

I was woundering about latency with the Ren. Could u say something about that?

In the specs it says :
Sample Rates Up to 24 bit / 96 kHz
Zero-latency hardware monitoring via adjustment knob

What does that "Zero-latency hardware monitoring via adjustment knob" mean exactly?

And how will the latency be when you use sounds on the Ren compared to hardware connected to Rens midi outs?

If it's anything like the Digi Mbox, there is a knob that passes the incoming signal directly to the outputs/speaker bypassing the software and any latency associated with the software due to the buffer setting. Basically as soon as the sound comes in is as soon as you hear it. The only latency, if any, will be from Rens own main outputs.
