Some may argue with your assessment. Wave and Universal Audio (among several companies) produce software emulations of hardware effects that are licensed and devleoped with the respective manufacturer....well received....favorably reviewed...highly regarded...studio standards....you get the point.

first of all i dont see it living up to the "hype", as a feature...

and second of all, not sure how a controller can emulate "color" of sound... but im sure thats been explained somewhere already and im just not informed about the plans for this mpc...

In the case of the Ren, it's the built in audio interface that does the emulation. With the Studio, I don't know how it will be done, or if it will even be a feature!

in one of the videos out there, it was said that the studio will NOT have that feature. That is what's going to separate the ren from the studio. And it is also part hardware emu.
