64(3) timing = 96 notes / measure

96/4 = 24, so...

24ppqn = 64(3) quantize setting. Ren can do this. so can the 5000.

the idea is every pad has 4 insert effects. we will have insert effects for each of the vintage modes, MPC3000, MPC60, SP1200. What you can do is if you want the snare to sound like a 1200, but the rest of the system to sound like normal, you'd put the SP1200 insert on your snare pad.

the individual plugins will be available shortly after 1.0.

1. Hardware. I love the fact that Numark/Akai has designed the control surface of the MPC Ren similar to legacy MPCs I have grown to love. They kept the classic Data wheel, Cursor Keys, Transport buttons, Number Keys, and also gave us direct access to modes via dedicated buttons. So I can use the MPC exactly like I always have. The 16 Qlinks gives you even more control as they correspond to all the parameters displayed on the Ren's LCD and your computer monitor. This is one of the biggest feature requests of the MPC 5000. And of course, they included the standard 4 MIDI outputs for driving external sound modules and keyboards.

in all honesty i thought it was pretty dope. it felt sturdy .. i picked it up it has some weight to it ... the knobs are plastic but didn't feel plasticky if you know what im saying lol ... what really made me comfortable was when i pressed record i Hurd the familiar metronome sound lol made me feel right at home .. i had no issue wit latency while actually recording a simple drum loop ... i whent nuts and pressed the pad like a crack head just to test the latency thing and it was pretty solid almost keeping up with me. the akai rep actually said "the latency is gunna be even better upon release.. this is still just a beta version of the software.

hopefully hes not just paid to say that lol but like i said it was pretty rock solid for my 15 min of use hahah
