problems recording automation on ren in plug in mode

You have to read the manual. Automation isn't designed to work that way. You can't record automation using Qlinks in Program Edit for MPC programs. Automation for MPC programs are done in the Main Mode.

As for recording automation from your DAW: Have you assigned the filter cutoff or whatever to a Q? If yes, make sure you also have a target pad selected, or there won't be anything to actually record...

thanks for the reply, much appreciated. i wasnt aware i had to set frame rates, it does sync ok but when i quickly press my cubase shortcut key to take cursor to start at the begining of the loop the syn looses and the akai keeps playing on from where it was.

may be im cycling wrong... is there a way in the mpc of cycling from a certain bar number to bar number?

Cycling works in multiples of the length of the currently selected sequence in the MPC
So if you have a 4 bar sequence it will line up with bars 1-4 of Cubase but when you get to bar 5 of Cubase it will start back over at bar 1 on the MPC sequencer.

If you want it to line up bar for bar with cubase you have to think about these multiples or just make one really long sequence in the MPC to match the bars exactly as they are in Cubase.

Same problem here. Ive seen youtube videos where people do it with reverb effects by using sends and returns but i cannot get it to record like in the video. Advice?
