That is not what I meant. But injecting some positivity/praise goes a long ways....especially in this user forum where MPC users seek advice and help with their Ren/Studio's.

Well Jah the live mode I was referring to was being able to take sequences from different programs in the Ren put them in one mode that you can use or do what the 4000 did which I liked you can load a program while a sequence was still playing which was pretty cool especially for live. This 64 bit support ,master bpm sync,and more control with 3Rd party vsts would be nice .

Anybody know if program-wide effects are gonna be added? This feature is really important to me still, because although we now have the plug-in programs so we don't have to duplicate VSTis, it's sill lame to not be able to just add an effect across an entire program and not use the clunky and cpu intensive track inserts function.

Also rewire would be nice; currently MPC as a plug-in still blows as far as sync.

No news on that front. That would be a new feature. Hardware MPCs have never had Insert FXs across an entire program. They used Send FXs to accomplish that which the Ren can do. You can use Keygroup programs in the Ren and insert an FX across the entire program. These type of programs seem to be under utilized in the forum.

With the exception of loading programs while the sequencer is playing, the Ren's Next Sequence Mode is nearly identical to the MPC 4000s as of 1.3.1.

Yes in which I find pretty nice but I still think with the power of a hard drive and ram on a computer I think loading programs while the sequences playing shouldn't be a problem I might be wrong .

Good feature to add. DAWs like Pro Tools and Logic can play sequences and load programs (plugins} without the sequencer stopping.

Indeed.Another request I would like but I don't really seeing it happening is more control of 3Rd party vsts from the controller.As I dig deeper into my Machine 3 vsts having to tweak the sounds from the vst rather from the controller can be a little bit tedious but not a workflow killer.

What aspects are you referring to? I have several 3rd party plugins whose parameters are instantly mapped to the Ren's 96 Qlinks. The names of the parameters show up in the software and the hardware.

Does anyone know if the AUTO SAVE and UNLIMITED UNDO functions are being worked on?

AUTO SAVE - All of the users previous moves are saved in the background continuously, when live closes out abruptly it will on restart prompt the user allowing the option of opening the previous session (the unsaved by the user, but saved in the background session) - FYI Ableton Live does this well.

UNLIMITED UNDO - The ability to press the undo button back scrolling through all the previous moves the user has made since the last time the session was opened.


I love my MPC REN and would like to thank Pete, Dan and the development team for all the great work, the Ren is becoming a very flexible and stable product through your efforts. Thanks for listening to the users and keep the updates coming!

im not sure what this shows.

all i wanna know is if we can use the data encoder like we used to be able to on the original MPCs.

i wanna be able to edit samples using the data encoder...

the scroll wheels just over complicate it all for me.

the qlink zoom/scroll.
