You have obviously not used the initial OS releases of hardware MPCs....and apparently the Ren as well. So one should take what you say with 'a grain of salt'.

Maybe you should enlighten the forum on the proposed "paid updates". How much will 1.5 be?

Based on your comments, you have not owned the products we are discussing. If you owned them, you would simply say so. There is no need to take my word for it when there are hundreds of forum members that gave feedback on MPC operating systems. 'Nuff said.....

Paid updates is not something I am aware of. In my opinion, 1.5 will not cost actual Ren/Studio users anything. I think a version 2 of the software should be a paid update.

That'll coincide with a hardware update. Do you think Ren/Studio users should have to pay if they don't update to the new hardware? I suppose they will take a leaf out of NI's book again with how the Maschine update was handled.

I have no knowledge of a hardware update. If I were running Akai (and I am not obviously), any major software update (as in 2.0, 3.0, etc) should be a paid update for current Ren/Studio users. If you buy a new Ren/Studio (Version 1 hardware or speculated Version 2 hardware), the software version available at that time should be free. These are my opinions and in no way reflect what Akai will actually do.

Kanye West has a helluva ear. Not too many producers could turn Michael Jackson's "Pretty Young Thing" into the "Good Life." A thousand producers came across that song and didnt think of sampling it.

folks, this is the same man that also claims that wanting to use the AKAI software without the ren having to be hooked up "makes no sense"... his solution? buy an mpc studio as well. his solution to everything is give AKAI more money.

When Akai short-lived the 4000, I knew something was wrong.

I stop counting the times you and others cried about not having specific functions operational from the controller then in the next breath want to use the MPC software without the Ren/Studio controller attached.

My solution for you is to don't buy it if doesn't meet your needs. Nobody really cares......
