The Purge! So much good shit coming out this Christmas (Xbox, PS4, Mascine Studio, etc..) Ren sales would of crawled to a halt without this price drop sales boost.

it was just $750, it went back up to 799
But if you want to buy one brand new, pay attention! use a amazon price checker alert

They keep changing the prices!
I say by black friday this thing will be $699, even cheaper.

I am not doubting the AKAI MPC Ren/Studio, I am just surprised the the price has dropped so dramatically--and relatively quickly. We paid almost double for it a year ago. It can't possibly drop any further, the MPC Studio will suffer greatly.

Are the consumers no longer excited, which is why the drop?

fear not my friend. you can also use your REN as a doorstop!
they are plastic and will not rust in the rain!
i recommend the rubber pads for cleaning the soles of your shoes!
these controllers are multi functional!
do not despair!

I am recent Studio owner and I can concur... I translate this to 'So you're telling me both were overpriced by hundreds from the start then'....

Supply and demand I guess. I won't cry over spilt milk but hope they generate revenue with this move and use a portion of it for further Ren/Studio development and not manufacturing some speakers or an Element2...

Yeah I'm a bit pissed that the price drop hit. I love the product but it's a slap in the face to those Akai fans who were and are dedicated. Especially when there is all this talk (rumors) of major software updates being sold instead of given.

BTW...The Element being created was a dumb a$$ move!!!! Akai if you are reading this, you should have stuck with the REN and STUDIO and kept it moving. The creation of that piece of crap made as much sense IMO as making the MPC500.

AKAI GET YOU HEAD OUT OF YOUR A$$E$ and get in the F U C K I N GAME ALREADY!!!!
