What about the peeps that do live pads hitting sets...
I like to make live jam beat kits/pgms... If they implement the new purge way your suggesting, then i couldn't build a live pad show.. because there's no sequence it will just remove every pgm and sample from my project....
should have a option..... purge samples on pgm level or midi data level...

1. You can already do this. Cursor to the track number and just key it in on the number pad!

6. Currently, if a sound is assigned to a program, it's considered "used" by the MPC. Do you suggest the software being able to purge all samples that have no recorded midi note data on any track in any sequence?

7. A work around for this is to make a separate vst folder for Akai, copy all the vst files you want to use in the MPC, and point the MPC software only to that new location.

7. I'm aware of this but I'm hesitant to go into my vst folders and start moving stuff around. Definitely the only option as of now.

Nah, don't actually move anything. Make copies! Just copy the VST files you want. You can even just copy the entire VST folder, paste it to your desktop and delete the VST files you don't want to use from the copied folder. Then just point the software to that new VST folder. You won't screw anything up.

FX plugin automation (full automation for that matter) and submix inserts might get me to take it off the shelf and start using it again.

I have bought stutter edit from Izotope (it's awesome btw, when you use a common DAW).

Unfortunately it's impossible to use it inside the MPC software because you have to play a midi track routed to an audio track that has the stutter edit vst.

It would be nice if you could create a midi track and route it to a pad sample or another track.

This would be a really good feature.. That pads can route to any other pads in any other track.. And they can be midi or sample based...

Stutter edit is good fun.. REally like it!!!

not saying get rid of current purge, just give us another purge option that would get rid of anything completely unused. In your case just dont purge, simple.

To other guy, Yes it would create separate programs with less samples saving space but the Ren already makes copies of your programs so yes its useful if its making copes of your prgms in new projects at least get rid of the unused samples in those programs. You might use 16 different programs in one project, they could be filled with samples from all 8 banks, your really want it to save all those samples in all those 16 programs when youre using just a few sounds from each one?
