I asked Pete about when we might see 1.7, and he had this to say...

Pete Goodliffe ‏@petegoodliffe 3m
@flight_onthesky Still weeks off. We're now completing the last bits, then we have a heavy test period to make sure it's ok.

i am not gona get happy about a tweet . on top of that about some software that should of been up to date last year . the only thing new about the ren is that its never been done by akai .. so i am supposed to be happy that the software is being rewritten .. that just tells me that it was not done right in the first place .. and now trying to pull some reverse psychology .. teaser shit , i dont care if the new update comes out tomorrow and its flawless .. thats the way it should of came out the box , when i payed $1500 for it ..

just saying, you should have done more research about what it could do before you shelled out the cash for it

i bought my ren based on the specs on the box, details on akai and musical instrument websites, forums, youtube clips etc.. purely on features i could see that the ren was a good fit for me, and my expectations have only been exceeded by using it. any updates to me are a massive bonus, as features that didn't even equate into my purchasing decision are being added, that's awesome.

I have to agree with you on that one. I based my purchase on the same. I still feel slighted on the mixer and multicore support. None the less I was and still am able to make bangers. Glad I bought it at 1.5 or I would be a little more impatient as well.

I'm getting really tired of waiting (and I'm a patient guy), but I'm hoping 1.7 will allow me to take my studio back out the box otherwise its going on ebay. As stated previously most of this stuff just catchup on how it shoulda been after the first two updates, nearly 2 years later ,cmon son! .... I'm more excited about impc pro tbh
