Happens when using MPC Studio as well, monitoring through MPC Software, not through hardware.

So it seems to do the same when monitoring through either the hardware or through software.

It could be addressed, at least for when monitoring through software, if there was a Mono button available when mono recording is selected.

Obviously can't be addressed for monitoring through the MPC Renaissance audio interface hardware, as it would need a mono button and circuit on/within the hardware.

First of the MpC software doesn't recognize the mp3 format.

Second it doesn't have audio tracks. Only midi tracks.

What you can do is sample the vocals into the MPC software and do editing from there.

mpc software does recognise mp3s, it just doesn't export them. you wouldn't want to export individual tracks to mp3 anyway, conversion to mp3 should be the very last thing you want to do, in any scenario.

Actually you do have the option to export MP3s. I agree you shouldn't export individual tracks as MP3's but useful when you export as stereo out.

Yes by all means use wav files when recording. Mp3s should just be a reference for clients or yours to know whats going on in a mix, but masters should be of highest quality in and out.

I believe on the Ren you can play the sequencer and record at the same time. Hit play, during sampling and sing or rap over the beat. It'll be a seperate sample and then you can overdub the vocals later. If you have issues with getting the timing right, remember, its a sampler, chop that shit up and make it work.

Yeah, my bad, I had it mistaken for the m4a format, I once and had to convert to WAV.

where is the set up thread for it? haven't found it.

also can i listen to what i record on headphones?
i have to change to asio/mpc soud driver and i dont have monitors atm so i have to use laptop speakers or headphones.

i posted on the akai site also about the vocals.
hopefully they do something about it.
shit is pretty expensive.

I thought that maybe they knew that, and they were talking about monitoring through MPC Software when recording, where if you choose just to record mono, by selecting either the left or right channel only, that you hear it while recording only on that one side.

When the sample is recorded in as mono, and placed on a pad, yes, it can be panned wherever you want, but it only comes out one side when actually recording the sample, in mono.
