I think Akai is in desperate need of someone to take charge of the MPC franchise.

Theyre still far from where they need to be software-wise and yet theyre investing badly needed software development cycles into a Windows embedded device.. ?

They still havent nailed it yet with the Ren/Studio.

Whats the deal? And who is going to spend the extra money on this? How will it interface with a DAW? I can only imagine the engineering nightmare theyre creating for themselves. And with such an extreme drop in pricing for the Ren, who is going to have confidence in the value of yet another premium offering?



Akai, finish what youve started and dont even try to pitch the majors with a weak-ass curve. Step up with the heat or your gonna get pulled. Frankly, from what Ive seen, you aint gonna make it.

I know players say they want a stand-alone. But mostly they dont. At least not enough to subsidize the endeavor. And its not like youre inspiring confidence.
