MPC Software 1.8 Video Compilation

On man i wish to god i would have had this on the 2500. Had so many beats that going back and trying to find a project was such a pain... Great feature.

BPM, Chords, NDC, Loop Recorder, Audio Scrub. Big ups to the developers and beta team. Already some good tutorial videos out there.

smh all this goodness i can't play with… yet this release will be like releasing the kraken!!! lol all hell is join to break lose at least for me it is….

for the 2nd video NDC... you are not limited to 16 pads for Maschine actually.. that is why they have unlimited groups. You use that similar to MPC banks

You actually are limited on Maschine in certain ways. You can't choke across Maschine groups or process sound level parameters as easily. And in Maschine, if you chop to zones on one sound (which does give you up to 128 zones), it's not as easy to go back and add more chops, and you can't add effects to individual zones.

Looks like a February release according to the video with that crazy ass beat in it... Makes me want to retire my Maschine Studio once and for all... #WOW

You actually can choke a group.. use the select button and choose all.. or Multi for each pad u want to choke.. and as far as sampling goes.. if you choose "Apply to" instead of "Apply" you then have access to each of your sample chops individually and can edit very easy... I use the Maschine as well as the MPC Ren .. I just alter between the two.. But after this update.. it looks like its going to be Ren 100%

I have both also. There's two ways to chop in Maschine.

1. Chop to 16 sounds in one group. You can have effects on each sound but have to use other groups if you want more than 16 chops. You can't choke a sound from one group with another group.

2. Chop to 128 zones for one sound in one group. You can choke by limiting the polyphony of the sound. But you can't selectively choke certain zones, you can't easily mix individual zones, copy to a new zone (have to browse for the sample again), or add effects to an individual zone.

I am a hardcore sampler/chopper and these are the reasons why I switched to the MPC from Maschine. I don't want to start a war. Just wanted to clear things up for anyone wanting to know things from a sampling point of view between the two. 1.8 is defintely going to cater to a very large number of samplers. Every new feature is so well thought out and I really appreciate the hard work of everyone involved!

Never a war. We're behind computer screens. lol.. Plus I always like clarification.. I guess looking at your response I may have not understood the initial post. And you're right.. only 16 per group..with the Maschine.. and thats one of the features I like about the MPC.. all of the groups are connected...

This update is looking real promising. Aslong as the DAW is stable I'll be smiling..and productive

1.8 looks great for all those desiring those advanced sample/chop features, but man I'm still waiting for a serious Song/Performance mode to hit this thing! By no means do I want to rain on the pending release of 1.8, but I am still so seriously waiting and hoping for those features I need out of the MPC!

I'm seeing more and more people refer to this as a "DAW". Is that how Akai is pushing this now? No longer an instrument, but a "DAW"? Haven't paid much attention to this for a couple versions, so forgive me if that's common knowledge.

And what's with all the theatrical videos around this thing lately??? lol Just giving you guys a hard time - nice work actually. Much better than those awful MPC Minute promo videos.
