Lazy chop, adding slices

Honestly, my main concern is that sooner or later the F6 button will not withstand the test of time. And I try to push all buttons gently, I'm not hacking away. However, the F buttons don't seem to be the sturdiest elements of the Ren. But yeah, no big deal in the end… 1.8 is still dope!

Yea was thinking the same thing. It is used a lot, for zooming and adding slices now. I wonder if they will go with the soft buttons for the F functions

the work around would have to be something like this.. when you hit a blank pad it adds a slice and when you a pad with an existing slice it auditions it

They've tapped up JJOS for ideas so they might as well carry on and add a few more.

Well it's like Es-K mentioned, any other way would have required the use of a separate mode, which would kill the efficiency. You put it on a pad then you lose the ability to be able to quickly audition, because you would have to change from a slice add mode to a pad audition mode. If you would do the method Es-K mentioned by tapping the blank pad, then that brings thought into the process. It would require you to actually think, where's my next blank pad?! Having to think kills simplicity and sometimes efficiency. Although this would have been the next ideal solution, the f key method takes all thinking off the table and the pads are completely free to audition when you want on the fly. Footswitch is a good idea.

I want to use this button or that pad to do this?? Overkill but you'll probably get what u want before audio tracks are added lol smh.
