How many people use hardware synths with their MPC Ren?

yeah i think people want the audio tracks within song mode, so that you could resample hardware across all sequences all in one pass, then those tracks would export with the rest.

Yup... I rock the Ren with my hw synths (voyager, p8, ms2000r,SID). I work with the REN in the exact same way as I've historically done with my MPC 5000. sequence it and sample it all. tedious workflow but the end result of not having to rely on midi dumps makes it all worth it. audio tracks or any alternative would be dope but it seems to me akai may avoid that for now because that makes it more of a full blown DAW which comes with a whole other set of expectations. So anyway for now my workflow is a matter of sequencing the midi and later (before closing out the session) sampling the audio from the midi devices / hw synths. I tend to chop across 4, 8, 16 or even 32 pads depending on the length of the sequence or the length in which I am tweaking params across the sequence. Say an 8 bar sequence that I let run for 16 bars as I tweak filter, resonance or effects etc. across the entire 16 bar performance... I will sample the entire performance and chop across 16 or 32 pads. if it sounds chopping (usually the case for pads or strings or piano chords etc) I will chop across less pads like 1, 2 or 4 and resequence the samples in to match the midi performance... as for the choppiness of the sequences samples in some cases it adds flavor that I like but in other cases i just chop it less and let the sample fly in in a more complete form. I'm such a stickler man... I even resample the soft synth parts. I've been doing this long enough that I realize that down the line a few years I don't want to pull up a project having swapped computers over the last few years and be missing a part due to what ever reason. resampling makes me confy that my tracks will sound the same across sharing with folks and through out time and changing configurations, computers whatever.

I don't know why it's taking so long to add old technology like audio tracks smh.. I own the MPC Studio and if they add audio tracks i'll purchase the Ren for the soundcard and the midi outs to use with my rack of sound modules. Some of the beta testers don't want audio tracks added but a lot of customers do. It's the ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM LOL.

I see you have a Roland Varios, that's cool, I used to have one too and kind of miss it. It had a lot of potential (withe the built in synths) but Roland abandoned it way too soon.

I use the Ren basically as a drum/rhythm machine and with a bunch of hardware synths for the rest of it. Things like Roland RD-800, Virus TI, and E-MU Ultra XT sampler. The Ren does most of what I need it to do because I use Digital Performer as the DAW, and don't need any integration between the hardware synths and the Ren. Although it would be cool to use it as a MIDI controller at some point.

Hi,

I use my mpc connected to an analog four, twice a way :
- via mpc midi tracks, 1 track per analog four voice (the A4 is used as an expander) for composing.
- with the mpc as simple clock master, jamming with the A4 sequencer for... (very modest) live improvisations.

In the first case, I always finish by recording the midi tracks directly in the A4, in order to play my arrangements with the benefit of its amazing sequencer (perf controls, P-locks, etc.)

Sometimes I bounce drums sounds or effects from the A4, but never complete bass lines nor leads/keys, etc. cause I want to keep the possibility of tweaking them directly into the synthetizer.

And I pray to see, one day, audio tracks in the mpc software :nod:

I'm interesting too by this thread, specially concerning A4 user's workflow...

I use a Korg M3 workstation to create sounds and loops. I then export / import the .wav files to the Ren to craft the drums, effects, mixing, etc.

Although a slightly convoluted method - I have quite a few synth vst's at my disposal; but, i just can't stop using my M3.

I know some prefer transferring everything over to another software/daw but for a lot of us that's overkill. Being able to lay and edit vocals/hardware synth tracks inside the MPC Software alongside our vst/drum tracks would be paramount for me and a lot of other users. Think about it.. 90% of our songs are created in the MPC Software anyways so why transfer everything over to a daw?? Most of us don't use no more than 25% of a daw's features truth be told smh. Give me audio tracks with editing features to go along with my effects plugins/mastering suite and im good!

Can we finally get audio tracks PLEASE?
