Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

The only explanation I can see at this point for delaying 2.0 for so long is that they want to release it with some new mpc. I played with it at NAMM and it was almost there so I cant see them working out the bugs for the last 9 months

Right on time for the holidays. At this price point, will probably cop one but this does reek of a possible newer flagship model to drop with version 2.0 (first quarter 2017 Winter NAMM perhaps?) Time will tell

It does smell like there might be a new one coming.
Or maybe they want to deal with less of "Hey I just bought the Touch and now I should pay 200 USD for the new OS?"...

Of course a new Ren is near, the Touch was just filler until things get implemented right, then it'll be easy to transfer the new OS to the new hardware. Shame a lot of cats were selling their asses for a Touch thinking it was the flagship.

Yeah the Touch has always seemed like a 'tweener to me. Notably for it's limited Midi, limited input/outputs, plus all the missing buttons. I really really need to have arrow buttons, which is a big reason I've stuck with the Ren. C'mon Ren 2!!!

Arrow buttons? I'm probably being pretty simple here but please indulge me!
The up down left right buttons?

Yeah, the missing < > buttons – that was my first "horror" with the Touch.
I got used to using < > to jump by bars with all other MPCs, so when I realized those were missing and that you cannot jump by bars by any quick method...a massive downer for me.
