No way the market will support The Studio, Touch, Live, and X at the same time.

The Renaissance, Element, and Silver Studio are all discontinued. Depending on the Live's price, it will most likely take over the Touch's place eventually.

So you have the mk2 studio, live, and X low, mid, and high end models. All speculation by me of course.

the Touch may replace the Studio black; or they may keep the studio black as the last link the old MPC legacy.

but certainly the X, the Live and the Touch can co-exist the only question mark is if the studio black will be discontinued.

On B&H MPC Touch is marked with Top Seller and there are mostly positive opinions (all over the web), even one guy who didn't like it said he would still recommend it to a friend. Negative people mostly sound to me like they got it and the workflow is not fitting them or they expected it to do different things.

Last time I've been really excited about MPC was few years ago when I got my MPC4000. I always try to trust my gut so no 3k, 2k, 2kxl and for me 1000 and 2500 doesn't even exist and I almost forgot 5000. Ren was step in right direction, but still meh.

Now hear me out - this whole new era doesn't start with MPC Studio, but with MPC Touch. It's not gonna get dated fast like some of these newer MPCs, because you can simply update the software via PC. It also has touchscreen and IMO it's the future and you still can use knobs to edit your stuff, so really no harm done or very little.
One thing I find missing in this is Locate buttons, which others pointed out. I liked to use them most of the time, but it's not really a big deal for me personally.

So to sum it up I personally don't see MPC Studio and MPC Touch going anywhere. In my eyes all these 4 machines Studio, Touch, Live and X can coexist and they cater to different needs and differ in price (some ppl can't afford shit like we do). My call is: MPC Touch is staying. It would be mistake in my eyes to discontinue, cus they still can milk it.

I remember when I used a mouse and the cheapest PC speakers and I made like 300 shitty beats on it. My buddy told me about MPC it was like some kind of artifact I knew I had to have it even though I didn't even see it. Now after all those years I'm once again excited to buy AKAI MPC, hope they don't **** this up.

I almost went full NI, but it seems I'm gonna be staying with MPCs. Sorry for making it long
