new kids won't buy it, old generations won't buy it. it's a waste of resources, money and time.. and we all can't wait for you to go under already. nukai has PROVEN time and time over they DO NOT care AT ALL about their customers but they care about the bottom line DOLLAR. Your ideas are as cheap as the products you develop. this thing is beyond ****. why try to make some machine of the future when all the loop holes you leave open make it unusable anyhow? it's more about the MARKETING than the actually product. they just use all this bullcrap smoke and mirrors to get you to buy it and THINK you may like it. it's useless. it's not an MPC... it's not. it's not. so why call it that? I'm almost disappointed at how disappointed i truly am... i mean, it's not like ANYONE was expecting ANYTHING from you guys... but this is just a nail in the coffin. burn in heck, nukai... you guys don't even know who you're catering to. your reputation alone is what's going to drown you out. everyone knows the deal now... it's a matter of time. you are a million dollar sinking ship. and let's think.... if the OS is as WACK as the OS akai makes for EVERYTHING..... this thing is simply a headache in a box.. and JJ won't be saving it.

i am now stepping off my illogical rant box... the floor is now open.

ps.. peace to the mpc-forums and the moderators and users. we are all a family whether we agree or not. but at least we have a place to spit wreckless in to the internet.

*turns mpc 1k w/ jjos1 on*

now maybe i can buy all the 2500, 1k, and 3ks up.

Pricing will likely be based on demand. Hence the hype marketing to test the market demand.

Be nice to grab up a 3000 for cheap though.

If didn't work standalone then why the hell would they put a phono preamp in it like the 4k? So you can transfer it your software? It ins and assignable out, plus the usb hubs, if it didn't run standalone it would only need the usb hubs not the 2 outs plus aux outs. You guys are assuming that it doesn't run stand alone because they threw the word controller on it.

To sample from vinyl into the MPC?

Why do you have a phono preamp in the 4k, probably for much the same reason.

It has the audio interface so you can plug it into a computer and you are ready to go, with 1/4" ins/outs, phono ins/outs, etc., without needing another audio interface.

No, I am not assuming it just because they changed the name to controller, but that is part of it.

Have a look at the product features... http://www.akaiprompc.com/mpcrenaissanc ... d_features

Impossible for JJ to do anything. A new OS would basically be "a new Akai DAW" that's specifically designed for the the Run. Totally different to an MPC OS.

Replace impossible with not worth it. I don't know JJ's skillset as a win/mac developer.

you pretty much argued with me for now reason, you're saying the same thing I was implying, I know damn well why the phono preamps are on both. I said it does run stand alone.

"AKAI says they will change the way we make music forever"

I really don't like that kind of hyperboling crap, that's some Beat Kang's steez.

And who is this user, MPCRENAISSANCE? (It's obviously someone from Akai Pro.) Again, it's some Beat Kang's steez.

Akai Pro, this is exactly the wrong way to build up hype.

It's possible Akai have taken some features from JJOS. I would have thought so at least.

Confirmed by a close friend that it will not work as a true standalone. To quote him:

Confirmed, Renaissance does not work without a computer, utter joke. At least Maschine was crafted to be a hybrid for people who desired that. An MPC that can't work on it's own is like one of those electric candles, pointless AND tacky

You can tell from the outputs, and the whole design of the machine, that it's not a standalone. I seen it from the start. Willing to bet the Ren. is all plastics too. It's gonna feel tacky as hell in comparison to a true MP.
