It's a terrible and inconvenient workaround....Especially considering I don't even do my drums in the FL sampler channels. I use Battery, load a kit and each pad is already mapped to it's own mixer track. Boom.

The only reason I really want to use the Essentials software is to take advantage of the Note Repeat (but...if I am constrained to laying all my drums on one channel....it's useless...and I do finger drum, so the "per instance" isn't a viable solution) The 16-Levels and Chopping (but I can't map the loop points/Q-Links via Midi CC).

So really all I am left with is a $149 pad controller with transport. Which I guess isn't the end of the world. But whatever

if it can't do those basic things.. then it's really a useless product

The software? Yes, I have to agree now...

The controller? Well..it's a controller! BUT..some of the controller functions (16 Levels, Note Repeat) are useless without the software...

So...looks like I'm gonna have to take a pass on this one.

Sounds like there needs to be an MPC Element/Essentials feature request thread.

Based on forum feedback:
1. Increase track count for Essentials software
2. Add virtual outputs to route to DAW aux tracks
3. Existing MPC Ren/Studio users to use Element as an MPC Software dongle
4. Essentials to import MPC Ren/Studio projects
5. Element controller to send Note Repeat to DAW

this elements thing could've been cool if it had few knobs plus a slider to tweek the sound with software interface similar to battery chop up/layer/tune/drums sampler type thing...even better if it saved drums in mpc format

but it's only half assed shit

I can't see how anyone can feel confident buying this after watching Fly customers get hosed. If they dropped the Fly in only a few months what's to say they won't do it again once they've sold off all of the dead Flies?

Akai Synthstation - Only one effect possible. Still can't export beats via any method other than wifi. Crashes frequently. Terrible UI. Verdict: Synthstation hardware owners - bleeding, pants down, laying by the side of the road screwed.

Akai iMPC - Can't even export multiple sequences. No audiobus. Trim only. No chop. Verdict: MPC Fly hardware owners - In the process of being screwed but due to Akai's roofie marketing materials just haven't felt it yet.

Akai MPC Flylement (or Elefly) - Chop the top off the fly and re-brand as a totally new product that is hot as fire and flows like water. Advertise the benefits of it being "stand-alone" without requiring a DAW. Then advertise in a totally separate location that you can run multiple instances in your daw in order to overcome the 1-track limit. Verdict: Flylement users - Pop your aspirin now and assume the position for a very possible screwing.

Good thing Akai is rocking it on at least one front!!!!

And.. what we are asking for is basic features..
where is the strategy.. the research, the innovation.. the web/graphic designer even lol
look at Native Instruments website, who do you trust with this hardware software stuff.. website tells allot, and Akai website is a reflection of the product they are putting out

I want a Ren, at the same time I don't.. trust the Akai movement.. , they don't seem in tuned with their customers..

the Element is a rushed product trying to make a quick fix.
Like I said I only own a mpd32.. but reading threads and doing research has given me this opionion on their products.. that is not good

actually, what you are asking for, you can already get with the studio or ren. The essentials is a trimmed down version of the MPC, offering you one track (for reference, the 3000 only had one track too), but multiple instances.
I've had enough trolling for today. If anybody has further questions I can answer, PM me.

That would be a really weird move if the software has this limitation, I mean, if REN owners like myself have been waiting for AKAI to allow us to use the Mpc software without the Hardware connected > (see various feature requests since day 1) then the element would be an awesome offer.

With it only being able to load one track, we still suffer the same issue. I really hope AKAI play their cards right and allow previous REN owners this option instead of having the latter limitation.

The biggest point is, alot of us create freelance, and obviously mix at different places. This has been my biggest problem to so far as a REN user, I don't wanna disconnect my gear everytime I wanna mix in a different location.

Please AKAI do the right thing friends.

akai sales dude - "guys we somehow need to repackage and move **** load of mpc fly dead stock"

some akai wanna be employee - " I know, change the name to essentials...strip down the software to bare mininumum so no future support is required...plus lack of all the necessary functions will force them to upgrade to studio or ren once they find out what's missing!"

akai sales dude - "perfect jahb, I got headstart on the banner " solid plan as rock" "flys off shelfs like water"

Don't forget to add the other secret discussion ".....psst, we can also tell the pissed off REN/Studio guys , who think we should be using our limited software development resources on their products, that its also for them so they can work on their projects without the controller being attached. The code name will be BFD, short for World's Biggest F---in Dongle!"

Lmao

They must think we're stupid.

The MPC Legend app is a virtual music production call-and-response game that shows you the basics of making beats and pushes your rhythmic limits. It will teach you and it will test you, with tons of fun along the way. Whether you’ve never created a beat before or can’t remember a time when you weren’t hitting the pads, the MPC Legend app has something for you.

Key Features:

-Match each beat and try to keep up as the patterns become more complex
-Three beat styles to choose from: Dirty South, East Coast, and West Coast
-Advance through 9 levels per style, unlocking new levels as your skills improve
-Enter Practice Mode at anytime to play freestyle and improvise
-Integrates with Apple’s Game Center to automatically post your scores
-Hone your timing and beat-making ability with easy, medium, and hard levels

:hmmm:

WTF is going on!!?? i feel like my reality has crossed paths with some alternate universe... like i've woken up in a surreal david lynch film or something... AKAI is releasing MPC video games for kids now...  :hmmm: :smoker: :Sigh: :fku:   :o

Are you sure it is not the MPC Ren/Studio controllers will work with the Essentials software?
