now the possibilities of our late model mp's (1k/2.5k) to control the new software package are looking positive :P

so long as it can hang on to usb 1 and jj can somehow trick it out to work, saying that i very much doubt that... but i'll be teeing it up with a usb/midi cable first opportunity!

looks very cool though, customizing this piece would look ill!

cant help but think they should have made more rotary knobs available instead of those big suckas....

It looks sweet as hell, but those chrome dials look slippery. I'm guessing they would not have used them if they didn't work though.

Edit: I hate the ren ... but this! This is sexy and portable. This could easily be the Maschine killer.

Thanks man! It does look sweet. It looks very M-Audio (almost like the Oxygen in aesthetics). Hope the build quality is decent.

I know this new generation of MPC's will be good and this is exactly what i wanted for my mobile/live setup.I currently use a custom MPC 1000 In my studio as my main piece but i wanted sumthin to take with me that had a MPC workflow.I did not wanna take my 1000 with me everywhere i go,even tho i did a couple live beat sets with it last year.Anyways i was gonna get a MPD controller than the maschine mikro came out and was really close to gettin it.It was portable, chop samples on the fly and perform live but i found out it couldnt do all the things i wanted so i got the big maschine.WOW! What a big mistake that was.I wanted it to work so much like my MPC and it had nuthin to do with it whatsoever. No similar/faster workflow or anything! what took me 10 min. on my trusty MPC 1000,took me over a hour on maschine.People told me spend more time with it or you dont know how to use it,M*********A I was workin that joint faster and better than people who had it for a year and i only had it for less than a month! didnt make one beat with it cause it wasnt inspiring at all and the software was glitchy at times which i hated.I finally sold my maschine and now we have these new MPC's comin out and im very excited.I wish i coulda waited or at least tested maschine out more instead of jumpin the gun and now losing $200 from sellin the maschine. The REN looks really temping and im especially lookin forward to the vintage modes.Ive always wanted a tilt screen and the turntable input was a big plus since im a sample based producer.I gotta feelin the ren will be up there on price so i might have to stick with this studio version.I just hope it has the hardware vintage mode output! Akai said there vintage mode would be software as well so i guess thats where the studio model falls in.The software looks dope, its still the MPC that we know and love and im sure the workflow will still be there. As far as latency goes,The ren is supposed to have zero with its built-in interface! akai confirmed this on twitter as well.Know one is sure how the studio will act until later tonight i guess. But really, are u gonna throw in a shitload of plug-ins before u make a beat????? u werent doin that when u had the hardware unit so why do it now?? save that for the final mixing process when its all sequenced and in your DAW.I plan to use these models (whichever one i get) the same way i use my 1000.Filter,EQ and reverb, same as my 1000 and that should not take up any CPU whatsoever. When im done, transfer to my pro tools and then add al the crazy plug-ins and such.I cant wait till these get released! hopefully in the first quarter of this year.I gotta fellin the studio will be $499 and the Ren will be $799.Any feedback from my post is welcomed! see yall back here tonight when the studio gets officially revealed.
