Yes Maschine has a step sequencer, but so does an MPC 2500 and every other MPC. So what? A 2500 also has audio tracks. How would Numark be copying off of NI when it's own products already have the feature? I missed the part where your post made any sense!
And 97% off what's available in Maschine has been available in MPC's since 1989! The only thing Maschine really has that isn't available in an MPC is computer integration, VST capability, and non-destructive chopping, all of which was already available in other software prior to Maschine. Other than those few things, Maschine does the exact same **** as any MPC! Akai isn't the only one borrowing ideas.
The way the 2500 implements the step sequencer is nothing like the way the Maschine does. The Ren stole Maschine's concept.
It's funny how you and JAH sheepishly defend Numark. Those fools came in the game swagger jacking and stealing concepts. Nothing has changed with them. I can't wait until Native Instruments answers Numark. See if they don't crush the game.
Plus...My 4000 doesn't have a step sequencer..at least not one that I know about..nor the 2000XL..the 2500 JJOSXL has one...but that's JJ.
5k doesn't have one either that I know of...fools be making up stuff to make their point.
Man **** Akai and **** Numark. Ain't nobody defending them. I'm defending what's called FACTS! And it doesn't matter how the step sequencer is implemented, the point is Akai still had it. Just because you improve on someone else's design does not make the idea your own! And the XL has one as well. Ever notice the little button on the main screen that says "STEP".
What's funny is how you guys sit here and pray for the downfall of some **** corporation! Why "can't you wait" for NI to "crush the game"? I own and love both MPC and Maschine and do not wish for either company to kill the other. Neither is paying me to care that much. Some of you dudes come off as really, seriously, and literally MAD at Akai and for what? Because they made a product?![]()
And as far as "swagger jacking concepts", god damn every piece of production software has an "MPC Swing" feature!"C'mon Son"!
The funny thing is how Maschine was called an MPC biter when it was introduced. Now the MPC is a Maschine biter. Funny how tables turn over the course of 3 years!
FACT is MPC does not have a step sequencer. JJOSXL has it, which I love by the way it took my drum patterns to another level, but no authorized MPC OS has it. You must be talking about step edit.
I know the original AKAI were trendsetters, not Numark though.
JJ is an example of someone, or a development team with vision. The way that step sequencer was implemented in the 2500 was nothing short of genius.
The Ren's implementation of the step sequencer is an exact replica of the Maschine. No vision or innovation at all.
PS..I'm not a Numark hater by the way. I made a beat on my folks 5000 the other day and the 5000 is the shit....IMHO.

"C'mon Son"!
