Well, its better to fix up the bugs and crashes instead of just putting a band-aid on it. Don't make this easy for Akai or you'll be in 2015 still waiting for the real fixes.

Everytime I bring up a session that was autosaved by pro tools, it wasn't always pro tools fault. Sometimes it was my computer. Sometimes it was just ME. Autosave is standard in most DAWs.

Admitting you want autosave is not letting Akai put a bandaid on bugs lol. I genuinely don't get why people would have a problem with this OPTION

An OPTION. Like being able to turn the light on/off. You have the option to have it how you want it. Don't want it? Turn it off.

This is probably the most puzzled I've ever been giving an explanation on why a feature would be cool. lol.

I think Cubase has had it for a while, but it's so transparent that you don't realise it's there.

I've had around 50 crashes since the early 2000s, and it has always been a rogue plugin that was at the centre of the problem. 50% of the time it just wouldn't load, and the rest of the time it'd crash inside 5 minutes.

I couldn't deal with an app crashing 3000 times like Metatron has with Live. That'd drive me nuts!

The earlier revs of Live 8 were a mess. I have over 200 VST including odd synthedit freeware and stuff. If I had 3 crashes a day for 3 years that's where I get that huge number from.

I just used it as a worst case example, mainly to point out that Live "snapshotting" (akin to an autosave) somehow always managed to piece together the session on re-launch.

Maybe people are afraid it will become an OCD thing like Xbox. I'm sure everybody has had a game autosave then saved it manually just out of paranoia.

I can see that being a bit of an albatross around your neck in terms of making Live crash a lot.

I had quite a few plugins in my old VST 'collecting' days. It was nice to strip away the dead wood when I switched to Mac.
