The Qlink zoom and scroll is really nice. I believe you guys are going to love it.

I am really picky in this aspect of the MPC. The scrolling of zoomed in samples using the Qlinks is really nice. There is nothing like it in hardware MPCs. Zooming using the Qlinks is nice as it eliminates the extra menu in hardware MPCs. Waveform zooming on the LCD is equal to or better than the functionality of any legacy MPC.

The only thing I would improve is the ability to select whether I want to edit 10s, 100s, 1000s, 10000s, etc using the data dial in Sample Edit Mode.

Maybe I'll be there, I live near Frankfurt (100 miles approx.)

I know there's a feature request topic but... what I'd really love to see in next updates ( 2013 please ^^ ):

At least :

- x64 Software + x64 MPC Plugins ( With more capabilities, multiple programs and again... why should I buy a MPD for performing on the REN trough my DAW ? )+

- Multi-core support. ( Standalone exports works great, but in a DAW exporting with the plugins on 5-6 different tracks + mixing with VSTs, blows my cpu on a single core. I'm aware running it on a High-End Core2Duo desktop setup is a bit light, I will buy an I5 laptop with a X64 OS and 8GbRam dedicated to the REN later.

-Working and intuitive automation system for FX and other variable parameters of programs.

- Ping-Pong Loops (aka BiDI Aka Bi-Directional Aka Alternative) + release point. (Maybe I miss something but there's no option for that actually)

-Ability to export all used tracks separately (Tracks + sub-mixes all in a row ). Actually, I must export separated tracks + each used sub-mixes channels one by one... ( Do I missed something ? )

-Vintage Mode on any of the 8 tracks and selectable could be dope ( I didn't tested the vintage plugin, I don't see it in my fx list, I should take a look again)!

-A few audio tracks, for scratching, instruments or vocals. Off course...

JAH,

FX over a complete program will allow better automation. That will be an improvement for MPCs users. I do not and never will use Key-group for Drums since it's for chromatic stuff. I will try wisely but I'm not convinced about this workaround.

And an Idea :

- Drawable Envelope with unlimited points for Volume, Filter, Pitch and Panning ( Trackers Inspired ) and just implement ADSR/AHD for backward compatibilties with this system... Wich are respectively 4 points Env and 3 point Env...

Hey It's 2013 ! Don't always claim OLD MPCs does that, not does that... Is it just another MPC or a Renaissance ? Or will It finally become the MPC Revolution We all waited for ? :)

BRGDS :) Thanks for support !

That is your choice of course but you are avoiding a very useful function of the Ren. Keygroup programs are for both 'chromatic stuff' as well as drums. Keygroup programs allow you to choose whether it plays back samples chromatically or whether they play at their original pitch. Nearly all the keygroup parameters are the same as drum program paramters. Adding effects/filters to a keygroup program impacts the entire program.

1.4 makes it easier to create Keygroup programs now that the LCD is redesigned so that the [Cursor] buttons can navigate to different params like traditional hardware MPCs.

I'll try it, since I'm new to the MPC ( 3 month on a friend's MPC1000, and 6 month on the REN ). I already see you discussing about that a few months ago with some other members.
True that way will not impact nothing, but I must see if I can route a part a keygroup to a different channel like I do with my actual program. I'll use this for melodic sample on my next beat.

Anyway, thanks for your answer.

Jah when I last chatted to u about this and listed a selection of bugs with keygroups programs u said u weren't using them at all. Does this mean u have now started using them and have reported the bugs, knobs that aren't even active yet etc. to AKai?
have they been fixed in 1.4?
Like I said before it took me only 10minutes of using 1.3 keygroup programs to find a bunch of bugs. I gave up with keygroup programs and focused on the things that do work in 1.3 at that point you said you hadn't spent anytime with keygroup programs.

So I would be interested to hear what has been fixed for keygroups in 1.4?
Have you personally spent time working with them now and do you find that keygroup editing works well in 1.4?

Doubt if this will happen in 1.4 .....
But I would really like a decent channel strip browser with next preset on the -/+ buttons under the data wheel, that and quantise note length option.

If u are in Cambridge Pete I would hand deliver the chocolates if you add that!

@foge1
I don't use the keygroup programs much at all. I just find it a good solution for some forums members that want to apply a filter or an effect across an entire program (I simply use Track Inserts for this purpose).

Your bugs and all other bugs reported in this forum that I can reproduce have been submitted to Akai. 1.4 does address issues reported in this forum.
