I wouldn't take any notice of rumours of paid updates and Ren MK2 etc. It's all pie in the sky at this point.

I do have usefulness in my Studio so I won't just sell it away, but as a long time Akai Customer, I would be hard pressed to spend any more of my hard earned dollars with them when there are so many other options, and hungry companies that will go extra mile for repeat biz

*Edit: I say this cause selling it doesn't affect them in anyway. They already paid regardless how many times something is passed down. But NEW business and purchases, they would fell that IF customers are united and say, we not buying ur updates (Imagine if Mico$oft charged for windows updates) nor any of ur other ish...

I'd feel more like like "So you sold me a beta product and wanna charge me for you making it right..."

It's shame but guys are taking a bath with the Ren on eBay. Right now it seems that $650 is the going rate. Nothing over $700 has really budged. I have a feeling that it's going to get messy on this forum as peeps grab up the Ren dirt cheap and start running into authorization problems. Not many sellers are including that info. Akai would be smart to get ahead of this while they can.

You can get a studio brand new for less than $350 right now at guitar center. Seems like about the right price to me. Used we should start seeing them in the sub $300 range.

Not false. Key is "right now". New MSRP is $399. GC has a 15% off coupon which makes it $340.
