lol, that one track limit is trolling...

come on man, you wouldn't use that shit on your projects... lol, not that you have anything to do with the marketing department or the bottom line department that makes those decisions... but saying the 3000 has only one track is far from an excuse... hell, even if that were true this aint 94 anymore....... I mean it ain't your fault that happened....... but you know you'd laugh too if you didn't work there.

It may not be designed to everyone's exact specifications, but you can obviously use it in your projects when your DAW can load unlimited instances of this plugin. I see this product like I see Battery...noting that is has no sequencer/tracks and only one program.

Oh I haven't saw this, then that would be great if so. Good look Akai

Are you sure it is not the MPC Ren/Studio controllers will work with the Essentials software?

Image

Straight from the horses mouth....unless they are misinformed.

BUT to actually get the software...you still have to purchase the Ren or Studio....You can imagine my surprise.

Or does this mean the MPC Software can host the MPC Essentials plugin and that the MPC Element controller controls the MPC Essentials plugin (thus works with the MPC Software).

or

Being that the MPC Element is a standard MIDI controller, perhaps in its MIDI Mode, it has control over some aspects of the MPC Sofware (just like any other MIDI controller such as a keyboard controller).

Unless I see a direct quote saying "the MPC Element hardware can be used instead of the MPC Ren/Studio controller......" I would not assume anything.

Not to try and start a pissing match...but this is not going to make anybody forget about B4 anytime soon...at least not without an aggressive update schedule. And I'm not inclined to believe AKAI is very interested in bleeding out features in Essentials.

Why should direct customer dialogue be reduced to such semantics? When they said the Element...isn't it implied that it is the hardware? Running a stripped down version of the software inside the full featured software would be redundant and rather pointless, no?

difference being, battery you can at least route each pad to the mixer ch in your daw.. that is a basic feature i think anyway

Okay I wouldn't understand the point in the REN software hosting the element software, just plain weird wrong and completely makes no sense, but since we don't know until Akai makes a statement, I'll just scratch my head.

As far as the Element working as a dongle for the REN software, as long as you already own the REN I could see this as great news, as this little guy would be no problem to load up anytime I wanna take my projects with me.

Akai should make a more clear statement on what is and what is not going to happen here.

But plenty of DAW users already are beatmaking. So what is the draw?

I don’t think it is safe to predict what people will or will not buy. Battery is not a copy of the ‘Thriller’ Lp found in everyone’s home. I am sure the MPC Essentials software will have its fair share of supporters to go along with the detractors. It’s software apparently using the same code as the Ren. So I wouldn’t immediately come to a negative conclusion about its future especially with how well the Ren/Studio are being supported.

I really believe it is a great alternative to other drum VSTs (Battery, Spark, Geist, etc). I also think it is a great alternative to hardware MPCs. The Essentials software still records, chops, and processes samples as well as any product mentioned. While it doesn’t have multiple virtual outs like some products, clearly you can come up with a list of strengths of the MPC Essentials that are not available in other products. For me, the draw is to bring the MPC workflow to your DAW.

As stated earlier, I would not assume anything. Call it schematics or anything you like. This wouldn’t be the first time forum members were confused what a product does or doesn’t do.

Don't buy into "we'll add/fix that in the future". That's the road to a certain disappointment.

Says " Hosts VST plugins and automatically maps controls "

1. how many tracks do you get? How would you say run Kontakt, and Mpc at the same time if it only has 1 track? Perhaps their not meaning Vsti?

This is pretty damn confusing Akai, can Akai reps please do a better job at explaining what's really going on?

thanks
