Gonna get a Studio. I want the portability.

But IF I did get a Ren, I'd still use my UFX, no questions asked. It's hardware DSP features are pretty damn good imo.

Up until recently, I have been going back and forth with choosing between the UFX, Symphony I/O, and the Apollo. I eventually went with the Apollo as I wanted to get a taste of this Thunderbolt technology and UAD effects. Also....since I already own Kronos, it's only fitting that I own another product named after a God. Lol

Alright cool. I was just curious about the perspective of others who won't be depending heavily on the Renaissance I/O or who are considering the Studio.

I was planning to get a Virus Ti desktop or a new motif rack to do my synthstuff with. trying to not load to much of the cpu with aladem Vst instruments.

maybe some kind of hardware multi effectbox. like Luqiud mix or something simmila. also so u dont stack up on Vst effects and slow down the computer.

all this togheter with Motu Mk3 interface.

need to by a new recordplayer also lol

dazastah wrote:yeah i was thinking of upgrading to ufx. heard lots of great user xperience from it. hey lamp you ever used the ufx standalone recording/playback features?

You mean without it connected usb/firewire to a computer?

Yes, plug in my 4k and triton extreme just like I normally do, monitors to the UFX, and it can be used without a computer as if on stage or some shit.

Recording to usb stick, I haven't done that as I have no need for it. I don't travel with my tracks for processing elsewhere.

I like Reason very much, i ill get this controller for it for mouseless control of Reason:

The Ren/Studio to paint the rough picture inside the MPC software and import it into Reason to add more stuff and mixing down.

A MPC Rack Extension for Reason, as luxury alternative for their Kong sampler would be perfect. Those two controllers combined could be the killer combo for hands on ITB production i have ever dreamed of :D

what hardware will you use with the Ren?

Went to the post office today and was excited cause I thought I would be picking up my Apollo. But instead, it was nothing but all the new TRS cables I purchased  Hopefully...it will be here by tomorrow.
