That is the beauty of working with the new tools being able to choose the filters and eq of choice beyond the stock ones. The video was nice and it look like a great plugin.

JAH wrote:I found the way to record from the internet directly into Maschine with my Apollo as well as the previously mention Fantom G. (This makes me 2 for 2  )

On a Mac, I have my Apollo set as the default audio device. So when I go to You Tube, audio is routed to my Apollo's outputs.

Within Maschine, in the Audio and MIDI settings preference, Apollo is set as my Audio Device. Next, I click on the Routing tab and the Inputs tab. Maschine gives you 8 MONO audio inputs. In the left column, you see Maschine in 1 L, Maschine in 1 R, Maschine in 2L, Maschine in 2 R, etc. In the right column, it identifies channels of your audio card. This can be changed as you see fit. You simply click on a channel's name or "not selected" (if no channel has been selected). This will open up a drop-down menu with all the available devices on your system you can set as input. In the case of my Apollo, I have 28 options to include its Outputs (Mon L & Mon R). So I set Maschine in 1 L and 1 R as Mon L and Mon R (Apollos Monitor Outputs). Now any software program/application on my computer system that has Apollo as the default audio device can be used to sample directly into Maschine as Mascine Inputs=Apollo's Outputs.

Yep and it's lossless and phase coherent. I believe the other options are not, though still viable.

I wasn't thinking specifically about Maschine but I use it for other software. For example I use the Apollo's HP1 or MON to print/resample an ITB mix in real-time alongside an analog mix through one of the INs right into Pro Tools instead of the way I used to setup an audio track to catch the ITB bus signal before a master fader track and another to capture the stereo analog mix. I use it daily in Live also. That's what I was talking about in our conversation in the other thread a few weeks back when I typed...

Another simple alternative for sampling with another device, say an ASR-10, using just the Console is to use the aux channels though. There you can at least route INs to physical outputs and insert UAD plugins inside the Console, albeit on a smaller scale. You can also do this virtually, since the Mon, HP1, HP2, etc outputs are also available as selectable inputs in a DAW. :)

And...

For example,, I actually love the manner for creating cue mixes and sending to auxes in it, as it's set up like the familiar traditional console. I also like that the busses for phones, monitors and auxes are always available to tap from, instead of having to click the channel indicator (to make them orange/yellow) to route outputs to virtual INs, like in TotalMix.

Maschine workflow I would like to see in the Ren? Maschine OS 1.8 is adding "Sample play position indicator on the waveform (hardware and software)".

Sadly still no global program/multi pad/sample edit, which is a total workflow killer, and the main reason I bought JJOS for the 2500. I would have rather had that that time stretch honestly, and I'm sure it would have been much easier to code. If it wasn't for NDC, I couldn't use Maschine!

Also, still can't duplicate/move multiple scenes!

I am hoping all of this is addressed in OS1 of the MPC Ren.

Some workflow ideas

Adjusting the volume and tuning of a pad as it plays from the main screen without going into a different window.

Legato mode which the 4k can do in program page would be nice on the Ren with the glide settings.

Being able to use step editor and select the range of notes to edit or add parameters would be good.

The 4k allow for phrase patterns to be temporary saved in sequence edit. But an additional drum pattern library that user can use from stock to customized would be nice also.

A charge over from logic would be a groove template that could be added too. That way I can grab templates of my fav grooves and add to my other instruments.

But since you asked eat your heart out.

Pro Audio Japan has been very, very very helpful over the years even though I had to send my unit in several times over the years for minor repairs and upkeep I still keep my old 4k now customized. But it is what it is.
