lame... jkc..when you post a reply click on soundcloud link and then post link so you can post the actual player.

anyways. with that being said.

not really diggin the song. not because its bad. because it isnt..just doesnt sound hip hop ish. and thats mainly what i listen to. i listen to a bit of rock and other shit too.
but with that being said. if you where trying to make a rock song..then i really like this shit..

reminds me of some old school 70's shit and i can picture some one whos good at spitting kill this shit. like aktion bronson or something.

how much of it did you sample? and how did you flip it?

sounds very well put together. like an actual bandski :worthy:

Its not wack. Its good. It just needs a second part or breakdown. Do you know how to sustain a sound? If you take a sample, find a sound and take a short part that sounds exactly the same in reverse. Then use like a 1/16 measure or 1/8 and play the sample over the measure like forwardreverseforwardreverse and it will sound like you are just holding your finger down on a pad with a tone.

I think the beat is definitely Hip Hop. I'm feeling it. you probably can use the sustain trick on the very beginning of those horns and sustain each one. It's tough but if you have clipping problems, try adjusting the attack.

Later tonight I will post a song where I used it on the beat. I just have to bounce right now.

naw dont like it..

pluz i am not even half way as good as i want to be. but thanks shon.

also.

also i dont know that trick you are talkign about..need to figure out exactly how you do it.

i try to sustain certain sounds but it skind of hard.

i know another tip/trick/technique or what ever you wana call ait. its a video on you toube.

you go to sample edit and turn the loop lock off then you move the loop lock to where you want it to be and press pad 16 and it will loop over and over. then you put notepad on and you can sustain it. but i cant get it to work sometimes..like on horns and shit..gota really **** around with the points you loop.

check it out dawg

Man you can't be so hard on yourself. The first beat sounded like some early boot camp and this is pretty crazy. I wish I could get cymbals clashing in a dope rhythm like that. One thing I've learned also is to save everything you make. Regardless if you think it sucks or not, there's always an ear that's like yea, that's what I've been waiting for. There are many beats I wanted to scrap but kept them all. Some mcs I know pick shot from my catalog that are like 10 yrs old. Half of them I wasn't even feeling. Just trying to give you some advice. Don't sleep on yourself. You'll never be as good as you want to be because you'll always feel you can do better.
