Appreciate your time here. But got to get this of my chest. I love my 5P. But it's half done. Kinda frustrating getting ignored all these years while suggesting bugs and improvements. Then all of a sudden 3 new MPCs!!!!

I'm planning to get a DSI Tempest. Been hanging around there forum for a while and this ONE! guy Pym is doing the software ánd answering questions to forum users. Talk about resources.....

in all honesty i thought it was pretty dope. it felt sturdy .. i picked it up it has some weight to it ... the knobs are plastic but didn't feel plasticky if you know what im saying lol ... what really made me comfortable was when i pressed record i Hurd the familiar metronome sound lol made me feel right at home .. i had no issue wit latency while actually recording a simple drum loop ... i whent nuts and pressed the pad like a crack head just to test the latency thing and it was pretty solid almost keeping up with me. the akai rep actually said "the latency is gunna be even better upon release.. this is still just a beta version of the software.

hopefully hes not just paid to say that lol but like i said it was pretty rock solid for my 15 min of use hahah

pardon me if I've missed that someone posted about this already...

the current driver is said to be standard midi but they've developed some sort of ultra fast midi driver that removes the latency... at the show they were using standard.

Nice to read. Any details you can reveal?

Thanks. :)

Very cool. welcome to the forums. your input is greatly appreciated. I work as a tech team coordinator and one ofthe biggest things with dealing with clients is managing their expectations.... us MPC heads need that more than anything. We never will know what Akai's intentions are or whats being looked into or whats being worked on or whats coming down the line if no one manages our expectations and communicates with us. I'm glad your here XParis001. hopefully Akai will allocate some OT pay for regular visits to the forum and to interact with us on our feedback and questions. We'd hate to loose you.

PS
Looking fwd to the MPC 5000 update. as many of us are.

Hello there,

another Akai employee here. I thought I'd show my face.
I'm working on the new MPC software, and can possibly respond to software related questions if xparis001 is too busy.

Nice!! Welcome Peteblues. Nice to have you.
What about effects on the Ren/vMPC? I read that there are 50 effects is there a list of effects that you can reveal yet? Also I saw "analog modeling" listed as a filter type? What exactly is that?

the effects are a direct port from the 5000, and so are the filters. I'm not sure if I can officially say what devices are modeled.

Welcome! Since this is running on a computer, I am assuming that there are no limitations in terms of the number of effects inserts like you will find on the legacy standalone hardware?

There are limitations of 4 inserts per pad (we had to draw a line somewhere, in order to keep the qlink integration), but each pad can have separate inserts, so you could theoretically have 4 inserts * 128 pads + 4 inserts * 64 tracks + 8 master fx (4 inserts, 4 returns).

Well that's more than I'll ever need! :)
