you don't need vsts to route audio from the mpc software to reaper, you do it using audio devices.

First open Reaper. Hit CTRL+P to go into preferences, and go to audio/device. select ASIO as the audio system, then select your interface (i use the ren, as i plug my headphones into the ren) as your audio driver.

now open the mpc software and go into Edit > Preferences. For Audio Device Type again choose Asio, but for the Device choose ReaRoute.

Now in the mpc software you have access to Out 1,2 Out 3,4 Out 5,6 etc. up to Out 15, 16. Wherever you can assign audio outputs (in program edit modes for individual pads, in the track mixer) you can select one of these outputs, then in reaper make a new track, change it's input to the appropriate ReaRoute (eg. if you have chops in the mpc sofware outputting to Out 3,4 you select ReaRoute 3,4 for the tracks input). then you have to allow monitoring on the track and arm it.

on the first page of the thread Dazastah has linked his Reaper file template which is already set up and ready for outputs from the mpc software, and is nicely labelled as well. so if setting up the tracks is too much for you right now, just download his and just copy the settings in the file over to the mpc (eg. if the bass track in Dazastahs reaper file is receiving from ReaRoute 5,6 just make sure that your bass line in mpc software is sending it's output to Out 5,6)

Hello all, I am new to these forums

I have an MPC Studio and Mac OSX and would like to have it set up with rearoute. I've read that in order to use rearoute, it must be chosen to be installed at the beginning of the Reaper installation. I already have Reaper installed so I've tried deleting the Reaper app, however when I try running the Reaper installation again, it just opens up Reaper like i never deleted it in the first place. I also tried searching for the Reaper folder in ~/Library/Application Support/REAPER., but it does not even exist? How can install the rearoute component? Please guys I need your help because this is driving me nuts....It's probably something simple that I'm missing on my part but I can't figure it out... Thank you

btw I am running the latest version of Reaper 4.7.7.

Hi mate, welcome to the forums.

ReaRoute doesn't support OS X, but that's okay because there are some free programs that do what ReaRoute does better (you can use these programs to route audio from any program, to any other program). The one I am familiar with from my days with a macbook is Soundflower: http://cycling74.com/products/soundflower/

soundflower is a totally awesome program that gives you 2/16 virtual audio channels to send sound. You will have to set soundflower as the device for mpc software's output, then as the input for Reaper.

another option is Jack OS X which does the same thing again, i'm just not really familiar with it, having never gotten it to work in the past

on mpc under device rea route doesnt show up.

You also have to make sure you install either the 64 bit version or 32 bit version.. And make sure the mpc studio is opening the same bit version... Much like a plugin... And rearoute wont show if reaper is not open first....

so i gota open reaper first then mpc? ok ill try.

Have you tried it on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the MPC software? For me only 32-bit works.

yea i just checked 32 version. the only thing that pops up is asio driver. i scanned the reaper file as well on both 64 and 32 bit versions to see if that would work but nothing. so i dont know whats wrong. i did everything else on reaper too. weird shits indeed.

A guy in this post states that you may have issues if reaper doesn't run as admin user...

or the mpc software...

Do you know if the account your using has admin rights, or that something like uac is running to prevent these apps from having certain privilages? i dont know but it may have something to do with it...
