The Cursor, F(unction), and Locate buttons have been removed from the MPC Touch. There is no more cursoring around the MPC display to select parameters like legacy hardware MPCs. The Q-link knobs, Q-link Bank button, Data Dial, and your fingers is used to navigate around the Touch display as follow:
On the Touch display, a group of 4 parameters controllable via Q-link knobs will have an orange border around them. You press the [Q-link] Bank button to select a different group of 4 parameters. This is exactly like the MPC Studio. You can also touch any parameter on the Touch display. This selects the parameter and places a red border around it. A parameter with a red border is controllable via the Data Dial.
Example workflow:
I am currently in Program Edit Mode. My Q-link Bank button indicates I am on the 1st Q-link Bank. The bottom of Touch display shows Amp Envelope Attack, Hold, Decay, and Sustain with an orange border. These parameters are mapped to the 4 Q-link knobs. When I press the Q-link Bank button, it takes me to the 2nd Bank which places an orange border around Filter Envelope Attack, Hold, Decay Sustain which are now mapped to the 4 Q-link knobs. At the top of the Touch display, I have Filter Type selected with a red border. Turning the Data Dial scrolls through the available Filter Types. If I want to use the Data Dial to control the Filter Cut-off, I touch that parameter (it becomes bordered in red), the turn the Data Dial.
