i think the vintage modes could be dope, but i dont think they're gonna be like the real thing, i dont really expect them to be either though.
but then again i havent ever used an old model mpc so i wouldent know what they really sound like anyway.

I disagree.

We're all chained to our computers for one reason or another, and the reason I don't use Maschine that much is DEFINITELY not because you need a computer to run it.

The integration aspect is without doubt the best part about Maschine.

I bet they were reading our argument threads with emptysea though while designing this product...

i agree with w.steele

people including myself have been wanting the maschine to work in standalone mode since it came out.

it seem as though akai hit the nail on the head with this one, as long as they dont charge too much for it, and it functions as we all hope

will bestbuy carry this thAng?!?!

have they made this easy to use with different controllers? can you control every virtual button with midi?

I think we'd all hope that it works in true standalone mode, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if I was genuinely interested in buying it.

What I would be more eager to know is how well it is made... are they using the same batch of tact switches that are rated in the thousands as opposed to the millions? How good is the audio interface? Can everything be done from the hardware?

On the software front, have they enhanced the MPC functionality or is it a straight port from older technology? What's the chopping like? Am I going to be faced with annoying import restrictions with name lengths or 24 bit files?

That's the sort of thing I want to know.

Maschine doesn't have the guts so that's impossible .

True, we haven't heard 'em yet so they could be cool, we don't know....I ain't holding my breath though,

Anyone know what the "other" mode is? Did they want to have an "SP1200" mode, but couldn't legally or what?

does it have a beatthang mode?

I noticed on Maschine it went from "SP1200" mode to "S1200" between version 1.5 & 1.7 . E-MU could be head hunting, and rightfully so .
