Sounds to me that your delusional and sleep with a big poster of the Ren beside your bed. Need to step away from the saki.

Several of us own Maschine, multiple DAWs, plugins, etc. Since I am in that category, I can tell you there is no sampling drum machine sequencer on the market that does what an MPC does...IMO. There is no reasonably priced DAW controller that has complete control over DAW software. You can make that claim as much as you like. If you stand by your statement, then give some specifics.
While I don't have an MPC Ren poster on my wall, that doesn't make me any less a fan. Akai is about to release a monster from what I have seen so far. It is poised to be more powerful than any related product in music history....IMHO. I can't wait until it's released to the masses.
I think I might make a pilgrimage to Rhode Island. Lol

Don't get me wrong, I can listen to golden age material all day but production has progressed proliferately and everything the MPC Renaissance does, the maschine, or even a **** in midi keyboard with the right plugin can do.
MPC is cool and all but it's like Jay-Z's reasonable doubt. Nas put out illmatic 2 years before Jay and Jay still didn't come out with a better album. Most people here are Rick Ross flossy fairies so their verbal abuse is virgins screaming to me.
Do your **** ING HOMEWORK, look at all the DAW's, midi controllers, and plugins, come back and tell me the Renaissance is all that. Bet y'all hang onto laser disks for ironic hipster fashion.

Right. Nothing has the MPC workflow, which is why I still use the 2000 and 2000XL. The 2000 used in midi mode used in a DAW can basically do everything that the Renaissance can do. I own maschine as well and the workflow is different but it definitely is a damn beast and pretty much does everything the Renaissance does, it even emulates SP 1200 sounds + the SP's filters, along with MPC60 emulation (which is where Akai probably got the idea in the first place). Maschine definitely bit Akai's MPC hard, but they one upped them. That's hip hop.
If Akai doesn't one up them, the MPC Renaissance will become stale in half a year through our technological exponential growth. That's why I'm saying, they should make it standalone but have it very DAW integrated as well, and that's seriously all it needs and then it will have longevity.
The future is the combination of 'analog' and 'digital', not the indulgent leep into the dependence of a computer.
I'm even a computer person but you have to realize not everybody has a laptop, which would make the Renaissance, quite the **** ing bummer. Making it standalone will seriously make it versatile and last long on the market. I ask them for the sake of both the customer and company. I don't want to see Akai put out a bad product, it's about progression, not stubbornness.

JAH wrote:Sounds to me that you fellas are envious of those that are planning on using the new MPC Ren. From unwarranted insults to challenges...seems like you all are looking for approval. Some of you have short-man complex. Lol
