Traded in my Ren in

I disagree with the ops conclusion the Maschine Studio has a better build quality than the Ren. The build quality of the ren is fantastic. Really feels like an instrument, not plasticky and rubbery like the Studio. I also think it looks better. Akai got this right.

I also have the studio. Those screens are not the holy grail, far from it.
They also don't reflect what you have on the software. It's not quite the symbiotic relationship between your computer screen and the studios screens. A number of users I speak to have said it's confusing which I agree with.

Whilst Akai have had a hard time over the Ren, some of it justified, some of it not, NI haven't. They have had a very easy ride despite the software being not up to scratch, lots of missing features, badly thought out mixer and general amateur and messy GUI . Essentially v2.0 Maschine software is nothing of the sort. It's version one of a totally new build, and almost new design. With that comes problems, not forgetting your workflow is massively setback because so many things don't work like 1.8. Let's not forget the inevitable very long wait for additions. It's in the details, but to see that you need more than a couple of hours playing with it.

how much u wanna bet those rubber buttons on the mstudio will last longer than those cheap plastic buttons on the REN? What exactly are you referring to when u say build quality? also your telling me 2 lcd screens doesnt make a difference vs 1 gameboy screen? i dunno who u spoke to that is having trouble, but for me the relationship of the maschine studio and the maschine software is uncanny in their integration. Yeah the Ren is heavy and shiny, and has a nice arm rest lmao but really the hardware with these products is only as good as their accompanying software allows them to be.

Just bc the Ren is heavier and has an armrest doesnt make the build quality any better, the only thing I felt was truly built solid on the Ren that was notable were the Qlinks and jog wheel. both of which are heavily under utilized as of now as far as the moc software/hardware integration goes.

Anyone can see the RENs build is really really good.
You don't think so, and that's fine.

The screens are aesthetics, rather than build
quality. I personally don't mind the LCD
Displays on the mk1 and mk2 controllers or
the Ren. I'm much more interested in what
the gear can do feature wise.

lol people dont know what they want I guess, its a matter of preference and as far as build quality, both are built well but really if you drop either one on these mpcs or maschines on the floor its going to break either way, just saying the mstudio feels heavy and solid as well to me, built just as well as the REN, I love the feel of the rubber clicky buttons also way over the REN simple plastic button, and the fact every button on maschine hardware lights up helps a lot visually

My MPD32 actually feels heavier then my Maschine Studio lol.

I notice this too. but I wonder if that is how they intended it to be.. for example, if I go into the mixer with the hardware, the mixer won't show up in the software on my computer screen.. but when I go into edit sample and arrange etc.. it shows up

if you think about it.. I guess it's like having dual monitors. having the mixer on your hardware while on your computer monitor it shows something different

but that is not a problem at all, because I can do an entire beat without looking at my computer screen at all.
