So given what he just said...and maybe im interpreting this wrong....the studio won't have that "mpc sound" due to it's lack of audio,vintage mode,and converters and filters?

I don't know where you got that from.
The Akai guy actually says: "...signal path is a replica of the MPC3000".
No software emulation.

but the rep also said software models

The audio path from the jack to the converter is the same hardware as the 3000 but the converter sound is emulated.

This thing looks like the truth.

THANK GOD THEY DECIDED TO INCLUDE THE NUMBER PAD! Thats one of my favorite features on the 2500. Glad he clarified the 3000-60-Other modes. Thats going to be killer. SP1200 mode too. Cool as ****.

Excellent video. I haven't been excited about a piece of gear since the iPad 2. Can't wait till summer.

Word! That was the number one thing I hated about the 1K! Number pad is essential!

Man.... really dope. each pad can have a different MPC sound mode assigned. one pad MPC 60, next pad MPC 3000 other pads SP 1200... thats just nuts.... mpc 3000 circuitry path plus sw emus of other machines. really dope.

And I have to admit this was the way to do an interview. Very informative and in depth.
