Hi all,

on the MPC 5000, the F-Keys switched to the following in MAIN mode:

[1/4] [1/8] [1/16] [1/32] [1/64] [ 3 ]

you could switch to each division with F1-F5 and toggle triplets with F6.

MPC2500 did it like this:

[1/8] [1/8(3)] [1/16] [1/16(3)] [1/32(3)]

there are less choices, but some people said they prefered it, because it allowed quicker, one button access to triplets.

so our question is what do the majority prefer?

please vote! Much appreciated.

[1/8] [1/8(3)] [1/16] [1/16(3)] [1/32]

The down south guys are gonna use that 1/32 like there's no tomorrow. I think having 1/32 as the main button, and 1/32(3) as a toggle would be preferred for them.

1/4 note repeat is useless IMO!

Keep the1/4 all the way up to 1/64. Music changes through time and we want features that will keep us prepared,we want a no limit machine.

I got nothing but love for the MPC 2500 and 5000. But the 5000 way gives you access to all settings.

I like the 5000 way, but would like triplets on the 16 and 32 also.

[1/4] [1/8] [1/16] [1/16(3)] [1/32] [1/32(3)] [1/64] [ 3 ]

Oh ok, could you do it like the 5000 then, once I can still do 1/16T and 1/32T I'm good.

I still like using the triplets from my 60 and 3000.

Co sign if you can set the sequence to 1/4 then a 1/4 note repeat is useless.

I know you guys wanna have every option available, but does anyone honestly use 1/64 frequently, if at all? I think it would be best to keep the commonly used ones as the main F Keys.

I say triplets for all, more options to get experimental.

exactly.

personally i say go with what is "classic mpc" style. whatever most mpc users will be familiar with. Im guessing the mpc5000 isn't 'classic' mpc, even if in the end it accomplishes the same thing.
