Nah, the buttons in the right way around, it's just in the wrong order, maybe the owner swapped them around as they always break.

@Jah those weak MPC 60 buttons are the very same ones in the REN and Akai know they're rubbish, but refuse to fix them.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe in the wron way cause it to break quickly/easier.

WTF! You got an MPC Ren before me...I am so appalled. :lol:

This forum is crazy...before the MPC Ren was announced, the Roger Linn signature MPCs were highly regarded...all the talks about quality and built like a tank. Now the MPC Ren has some of those elements and folks are implying its weak. :?

Flux actually asked them about the buttons in one of Saint Joe's vids. He specifically asked if they were the same buttons with the same mounting system that breaks easily and AKAI said.. UHM, well yes they are.

So do we really need to rip open a unit, if the manufactor says they are the same buttons?

I am reading this thread and definitely feel that forum members are on some next level BS. I have been really reserved trying not to call some of you out.

I feel a need to repeat this statement......

Prior to the MPC Ren/Studio...the Roger Linn signature MPCs (MPC 60/3000) set the benchmark for quality. There is no other sampling drum machine in history that is more highly regarded. (*The SP12/1200 samplers are a close second).

Now you guys are saying that the MPC Ren having the same transport as the original "built like a tank" MPCs are not good enough? You guys are taking forum trolling to an all time high....

I believe I can say none of you owned the MPC 60 or 3000 when they were released 18-25 years ago. Most of you purchased them second hand within the past 10 years. If the buttons break...maybe that's because they have been put through hell for 8-25 years prior to you owning one. :oops:

What you don't understand is that it has nothing to do with the 60/3000, Roger Lynn, or the 1980's. EVERY SINGLE MPC made has the same button mounting system design regardless of when it was made and what shape the transport buttons are. If you've ever taken an MPC case off you'd know that. Like I mentioned to you in another thread, I have a 2000XL that I bought BRAND NEW in April 2001 and my Play Start, Play, and Stop buttons are all broken just like the picture Retro posted. Just because yours haven't broke doesn't mean guys are trolls because theirs broke.

The only problems I ever had with my 2kxl buttons were the F buttons, it was f-5 I believe, which ever button was the do it button, other than tht really no other button malfunctions.
